He's stubborn or crazy (keep doing the same thing even it has proven him wrong in many occasion). Do I win?

Am really starting to worry about the prospects of us getting that fourth spot, every time there is a beacon of hope it quickly seems to get extinguished.Nowhere near enough players are stepping up and performing like they need to for us to get fourth spot in the Premier League this season. You cannot see that anything is going to change in the near future which is really aggravating for fans.

What a dumb thing to say. Don't be such a dick. Do you actually think last season's performance warranted making a management change? Do you actually blame people for wanting Rafa to get a new contract after our efforts last time around?

Not a chance?  I can't say I'm overly optimistic but come on.  Has anyone had a look at Spurs' or City's run-ins?  Spurs need to play Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal back-to-back-to-back and they still have City as well.  City have it easier than Spurs...they don't play Chelsea.  So, it's not inconceivable that both clubs will hit some significant roadblocks down the home stretch.  We've got much the easier run-in despite playing Chelsea on May 1.  Not saying we'll not feck it up somehow--based on how this season's going, it's highly possible--but let's not say the race for fourth is done and dusted just yet.

yeah because after our best league season for years in which we should have won the title evryone could see this season coming couldn't they?

hindsight is a wonderful thing. you wouldn't have found one fan on here who wanted the manager out at the end of last season. last season i saw some of the best football i'd seen from a liverpool side in 20 years. second half of the season we were destroying everybody.

idiotic thing to say.

To be honest, the only thing that is keeping my hope alive is the fact that of our 7 remaining league matches, 4 of them are at Anfield and our 3 aways are Burnley, Hull and Birmingham.

We really should be looking at 19 points out of 21 minimum to even have a glimmer.

It's not over till it's mathematically over, that will be in about 3-4 games time I think. I just cannot see us turning this around, unfortunately the other teams seem to have the bit between their teeth and playing well. We needed a complete collapse of these teams to have any kind of chance.

Current situation we'd need the 6-7 wins I mentioned before the last game, that's a tall order given our form, but we did it last season and with Chelsea at home the toughest game (on paper), there is always hope.

Just can't see us getting those 18+ points we need, spudz can easily drop three points as they have the mancs and quite possibly travel to COMS, villa are not all that so can drop points, and Citeh have the mancs to come as well as rivals for 4th so the question is whether we can win our games and if we can win 6+ then I'd say we've every chance.

But the question isn't "can", it is "will". Nearly at 1:1 ratio, where have the extra 40+ voters come from?!?!

Ahem, I think you have found one  :D

I actually did want Rafa gone, I have done constantly for the last 3-4 years. I have to admit though that I was warming to him slightly last season, especially the last few months when it finally seemed like he was learning but I had a horrible feeling it wouldn't last and it hasn't.

Not exactly "on-topic", but consider this...
Listening to Ronnie Whelan last nite (now, hold fire until you read the rest of this....), his opinion - and also that of Johnnie Giles beside him - was that once a club has a fantastic season, and either wins or comes runner-up in the league, the thing you do is to strengthen the team from a position of strength. We went backwards with our signings. A midfielder who didn't play for months and a defender who can't defend....
Sheesh....

He has had several dodgy campaigns. I'd have given him a 1 year rolling contract, or at the very least a provision that if he fails to qualify for the champions league he can be sacked with no compensation.

I knew he was a poor manager, just having a good run. You won't find a post by me saying that he should get a new contract. I saw this happening.

If I were Spurs/Villa/City I'd bet Liverpool the 4th spot if they get 18+ points (6 wins min. out of 7 games).Even though we got somewhat easier opponents, exsept for Chelsea, I doubt that we will win 6 games, we'll probably draw with someone or even lose cos we just suck too much this season. And even if we did get 18+ points, you think that Villa or City will screw up that much?Looking at the games Spurs will probably fail, but both Villa and City are not idiots, they WILL take advatage of this.Dont get me wrong, Im not THAT pesimistic, I still do have hopes, and I'd vote for "Yes we will get fourth" but common sense says diffrent... but you know it's football and it's Liverpool, so it's not over yet :D.
