If momentum was with us and we were on a run we could catch the other clubs but the way we are playing we will be lucky to finish in a Uefa Cup place

BTW if Everton win there game in hand they are only 4 points behind us.....

Absolutely agree with this. Just can't see us getting fourth , will keep everything crossed , but think it's gone.

Gutted  :(

Even if we won every single game remaining, which we won't, we would still need all three of Spurs, Villa and Citeh to feck up and that just won't happen.

That's rubbish Heimdall, everyone was saying the same thing about the title after we lost 3 games, 'that's we can't afford to lose another game, the mancs and chelsea won't be dropping anymore points' they shouted. All the top teams have been dropping games left, right and centre so to state (as a matter of fact) that City, Villa and Spurs aren't going to slip up/mess it up (regardless of what we do) is total speculation.

4th place isn't out of the window, it just looks bloody difficult and a bit hopeless because of our form/performances this season. It isn't beyond us yet though.

That absolute rubbish Scottbot!! See it's not a very nice way to start a post is it?

I respectfully disagree with you Sir is nicer. :D

We won't get 4th now, no way, absolutely no way, far too many things have to work in our favour including us actually starting to play football.

Can anyone honestly remember a season as bad as this especially seeing that we have the quality of players we have.

There is something definitely wrong at the club and I think it is only a matter of time before we find out.

Is this what Liverpool football club has come to? Who will win the battle for 4th spot!  :Oo:

I know we have no god-given right to win the league but is this it? Is this really what supporting Liverpool FC is about now? What ever happened about winning trophies? No scrub that.. even Trying To Win Trophies!

I have been a life long supporter and I am 42 now, I don't remember seeing a more boring side to watch than this current team. I don't remember seeing a side so bereft of ideas and options and our recent trophy cabinet proves that.

It is no longer about "winning at all costs" everything we do is about desperately trying not to lose.. I don't blame the players either, they look as lost and bewildered by the tactics as us supporters.

I know we get behind our managers here at Liverpool FC but there comes a time when enough is enough! That time should be at the end of the season.

The people who had faith in Benitez pleaded a few months ago for him to have a full season. Looks like he'll get it (I'd have him long fired by now).

Anyway, surely nobody here wants him as manager at the start of next season?

I think the majority (in their own time) have come to the same conclusion mate. But this place reminds me of listening to Alan Green commentate on a bad football game. It just makes it worse.

I voted a big fat 'No' for this poll! I watched the second half of the Lille game last night and all i saw was the players hoofing the ball...is this a :censored: tactic ??? .

I watched the whole Wigan game and it was the worst 90 minutes of football I've seen us play in a long time. No spirit, no rhythm, no character - a really gutless performance. I don't think we will get 4th because the other teams around us (Spurs, Villa and City) ARE BETTER. Liverpool is a club in serious decline, i don't know how we can turn this around next season but there is a lot of rebuilding to do after this summer.

I think Torres will leave (didn't Benitez say he'd go if Torres goes), god knows where the cash we earn from him will go, Carra's past it, Gerrard seems fed up and the rest of the team is just pure rubbish apart from Reina and possibly Masch. The icing on the cake is that we'll have jerseys with Standard printed on the front.

City just drew with Sunderland, and they only equalized in stoppage time, fkn Adam Johnson!! Still you'd expect City to have won so we'll take the draw..Come on Reds it ain't over yet!!

Just won't happen eh? Well mate, both Citeh and Villa dropped points today and i'd put money on them (and Spurs) dropping more before the season is out. Unfortunately I don't have the confidence in us taking advantage but still believe the opportunity will be there for us.

I don't think we will finish 4th, we are not playing well enough and the other teams around us are scoring more goals than we are.

To be honest if we do finish 4th that could mean Benitez stays and I have really had enough of him now.

Seeing Johnson score for City today just stresses the point that we paid more for Riera and he isn't as good in my opinion.

Dear me this manager has wasted some money.

Pushing for fourth is very different to competing for the title. All these teams will drop points, thats why they are all at least 14 points off the top of the table.

We all know Liverpool are punching far below their weight at the minute. If something clicks a bit and we up our game there is a good chance we'll get fourth. Obviously it needs to happen soon, and tomorrow is a good opportunity.

We've got almost all our players fit for once. Gerrard and Torres, far and away our most important players are over their injuries and if we want we can play Reina, Carra, Masch, Gerrard, Aquilani and Torres - it's a great spine.

We clicked around this time last season, all of a sudden, for no apparent reason, if it happens again we should be ok, and make no mistake winning the race for fourth is a lot easier than winning the title.

he'll drain the club of every penny he can get just like Houllier and Heskey.

When the rest of us fail at our jobs we get fired, these guys (like bankers) get paid millions for fukking up their job. Strange world.
