Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Absolutely.

There should be sustained chanting of his name on Wednesday night. If it can be kept up for the whole game, so much the better.

If I were you lot I´d be chanting David Moores´ name.   That might make the yanks stop and think.

From RTK :

The RTK is helping organise the demo on Wednesday:

We are calling on all supporters of Liverpool FC to demonstrate their unconditional support of the Rafael Beneitz this Wednesday. Rafa is far and away the most important figure at Anfield - bar none. Under his guidance the club has appeared in 2 European Cup finals in the little over 3 years that he has been manager. We currently stand well placed in the title race and remain undefeated.

Rafael Benitez also needs the full support of his employers. It is Rafa's job not only to train and coach the players, but also to be proactive and decisive in acquiring new ones. Bill Shankly turned down the Liverpool job in  the  early 1950s  because he was told it would  not be his job to sign new players. It was only when he was promised a free reign in the selection of his squad that he agreed to become manager of Liverpool FC. Rafael Benitez deserves similar support from our  current  owners.

If you want to pledge your support publicly for Rafa Benitez then join us on Wednesday evening at 6:30pm, outside the Sandon pub on Oakfield Road, close to The Kop. If you have any Rafa flags and banners then please bring them along. We then urge you to continue your support of Rafa during this crucial European Cup game by singing and chanting his name . We call on all Liverpool supporters to unite and publicly display their devotion to our manager.

Rafa needs us, and we owe him every ounce of love and support that we can possibly muster.

Remember: Liverpool Football Club exists not to make money - it exists to win trophies and be a source of pride for it's supporters. It serves no other purpose.

Hala Rafa!

Get in... Brilliant Idea.. !0 mins (or more) of Rafa Benitez...  That would be a shock to the yanks to show what support he has, and the media would love it!!!  Almost like the 10 mins of clapping against the S*n.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I'm still loving this idea... it's gonna sound AMAZING and there's NOTHING I want more than for Rafa to stay. But just one thing: let it ALL be about Rafa, ie sing and chant his name as much as possible and don't focus on G & H. They'll probably just get more :censored: if they hear negative songs being sung about themselves. Leave them out of it, and let this be Rafa's (and of course the teams) night. Can't wait to experience it from behind the tv screen. For those who go: make all us reds proud! YNWA

Well Red wrote:Right, this is a thread for everyone here who will be attending Wednesday night's Champion's League game against FC Porto or knows someone who is. A lot of behind-the-scenes talk has surfaced in the papers this week and it looks ugly for Rafa, who certainly feels he's lost the support of the Liverpool hierarchy; the Yanks.

Well it's time to show that We are the Liverpool hierarchy, the Fans.

So let's get a show of support going for Our Manager at the very start of this game. It's going to be an electric atmosphere anyway, so what better time to get the entire Kop chanting Rafa Benitez's name, eh? From the first whistle for ten minutes let's all chant for Rafael Benitez!

Let's reclaim the Kop on Wednesday, and show Rafa our support because these Yanks have to realise they can't make big decisions on the future of Our football club without Our support!

i tell my mate who is attending to get right innthere and scream like he has never done b4 ... great suggestion , lets show our support for rafa

Hala Rafa!

FFS, I've seen words like Que! Pronto! and Aficionados! wielded by some Liverpool fans, but I didn't expect to see Hala!!, it used to be a word to show support in older Spanish, nowadays it's only used that way by the Madrid fans. But no doubt he'll like it if he reads it :)

I'll be 100% behind the team for this game, we have to win this one and I think we will, we're on a good roll at the moment.
I do think you guys are being a bit harsh towards Hicks and Gilett though, wouldn't you guys be a bit :censored: off if your employee went out and publicly slagged you off??
In any case we all need to unite and make some serious noise on Wednesday.

he is not slagging the owners off , he is only aking to be allowed to do his job and manage. He is not asking for any more money on top from what i understand , only selling players to fund any transfers and getting a player on a bosman . These are things that need to be sorted out now not when it suits G+H .How long before they start to want to pick the team we will be like chelski and mureen before u know it. Its G+H that need to keep their big american gobs shut not rafa :veryangry

Couldnt believe the reaction of Spurs fans wanting Jose ! and them Geordies turning on Sam, its not the Liverpool way and hopefully this display will be heard LOUD and CLEAR in America .... what the hell has happened ? to our club ..... cant believe were in this position fighting the yanks, its so not in our tradition ...
