I do sit in the lower tier normally, as you get the best view. wont give out my ID though, as I'll prob get my face mashed in by 1,000 LFc fans.

My first Anfield trip was to the 4-0 Man Utd drubbing in 1990/1991 season when Peter Beardsley scored a hatrick and lobbed Les Sealey.
I Stood in the Kop, the old Kop, first time as a nipper, aged 13. and I never saw the first LFC goal because some huge bloke behind me sent me flying 10 rows forward and to the ground when the ball went in.
I remember seeing the new kop for the first time and was  hugely disapointed as it was so much smaller than the old one.

I went to see Liverpool V Everton after that, in the Everton Gladys Street end When  it was all standing. Liverpool won 3-2, and torben Piecknik scored that own goal off the bar, and barnes scored a beauty. Was an exciting match.I had two mates who were both obsessive bluenoses who got me a ticket.

Cheering in the Everton end when LFC scored........was funny.
Thats when it was safe to do so. I wouldnt do that now tho.

I've only ever sat in the new Kop once, at the Tsunami charity game organised by Jason MAcateer. When King Kenny came on second half, hairs on my neck stood up as the fans were clapping and going..."Dalglish" !

That was memorable that moment.

Sorry Hustler, I know I said I'd stop bothering and banning you but that's complete and utter, fucking, rubbish.

It reminds me of the time when I was a season ticket holder at Highbury Trafford and King Roy Giggs had just scored a belter of a last minute goal against Everton Forest and we all showed our naked arses at the other banana and orange shaped fans at the Nou Camp and then I fucking woke up.

Aunty Em, and Uncle Henry, and Ronaldinho was there, so was Shevchenko, and Zidane, and you, and you and you were there.

Why do I even fucking bother even logging in here sometimes?

Seven years old on my first trip to Anfield, though not my first Liverpool game, that came at Vicarage Road (Watford).

87/88 season, went up to Anfield to watch us against QPR. Being a west Londoner, my dad supported the R's and I'm happy to report that we whacked them 4-0.

I was nearly crushed each and everytime we scored (was in the Kop) but weirdly enough, I actually enjoyed the pushing/shoving. Felt like a 'man' to be part of all that, it really did. Also remembering how the accent first sounded to me, it was proper weird and that was me coming from a Mum with the strongest Glaswegian accent you could hope to hear (think a Carra equivalent!). So admittedly I hardly understood what was being said at times, apart from the following.......

I have to say, the good 'ole scouse sense of humour was in full affect as a section to our left, started singing 'Lionel, gis a wave, Lionel, Lionel gis a wave' directed at my dad (he is the spitting image of Lionel Ritchie.Hehe!!). And of course with a big grin on his face he gave the obligatory wave to those singing (in what would be 202 now!!), ahhhh the good old days eh!!
Thats something I will never forget that, great memories, made all the better by my all time fav Liverpool player scoring two goals late on to complete the scoring, John Barnes.

Great thread this btw!!

Also happy to say that now I can say that I was there when Fowler (God, if you must!) scored his first Liverpool goals, MkI at Craven Cottage (10min drive for me!) and MkII at Anfield (a 2hr 35min drive!) on Wednesday night!!!   :bowdown

I have just taken my son to anfield for his first visit, Liverpool V's Fulham.

Being an Out Of Towner from Cheltenham(Went to the races Tuesday) I have only managed to get him there at the tender age of 10.

We arrived at the ground at 4:30pm, managed a tour around the Museum (Old Big Ears out on a charity bash a bit dissapointing), Visit to the Shop.  Photograh at Shankley's statue.

A poigniant visit to the Hillsborough Memorial, explaining to him what happened that day, what I was doing at the time and that the youngest supporter to die was the same age as him. (Brings the whole tragedy into perspective).

Off to a cafe next to the ground (can't remember the name) for Chicken Mushroom Pie Chips, Peas and Gravy (quite an eye opener for a young lad from cheltenham),  excellent food and lovely ladies to serve us.

Then waiting for both coaches to arrive, he was absolutely amazed at the size and number of police horses also the volume
and smell of the horse :censored: they left!.  I had to hold him on my shoulders so he could see the Liverpool players leaving the coach, he managed to see most players but definately remembers Crouch almost smashing his head on the ceiling as he went through the players entrance.

And finally into the ground when the turnstiles opened.

We sat in the Centenary Stand, Lower Tier, Block KG Row 13 Seats 21/22.

Then over the next hour we get to see the ground fill up from empty, go from darkness into light as the floodlights turn on, absolute magical time. Watching the players warm up, having to explain to him who the hell Dave Besant was (Definately getting Old).

Now for the special part, scarves (although usefull because of the extreme cold on wednesday!!) especially brought to stand and sing to 'You'll Never Walk alone' .  Sang his heart out!! (Not a bad effort for a self concious 10 (going on 16) year old).

So, how lucky is he on his first visit to watch Robbie Fowler scoring for the first time since his return and charging straight at us sat in the stand!

Then to witness a 5-1 win (hasn't happened to often lately) at anfield, does it get any better for your first visit as a youngster.

So, what will his abiding first memory of anfield be, the singing of You'll Never Walk Alone, a 5-1 stuffing of Fulham, he visit to the Hillsborough Memorial.

In years to come when I ask him, I think it will be of Robbie charging at us after his goal, what a moment!

(Unless in my nightmares, he remembers that imperious performance of the left winger come part time left back Djimi Traore, aaaaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhhh!!!!)

So come on lads (and lasses) tell us about your first time at anfield.

Great post...having sons of my own, I can relate.

I haven't had the privilege of being taken to Anfield (my old Dad, God rest his soul, was a Man U supporter), and the commute was just a bit excessive from Oz.

By comparrison to most my Anfield experience was mundane. Was on holidays in 1988 and I made a flying visit (waiting for our video camera to be repaired following our return ferry journey from Ireland).

The season had finished but my vivid imagination allowed me to stand amoung all of you (it was probably your fathers') at the Kop end and sing my lungs out and see my lads triumph over the very best.

Hoping to cash in the fantasy for the total 'real' expereince in the next year or two.   :D

My first visit to Anfield was towards the end of the 84-85 season when i was about 11 and Watford were the visitors. I remember going into the Anfield Rd end and looking towards the kop not believing how much bigger it looked than on the tv. The game was a thriller in which Liverpool won 4-3 after a late goal from King Kenny. A young John Barnes got two that day and i remember one of them was a superb free kick. A perfect start to following the greatest club in the world.

My first visit to anfield wasn't actually to see a football game, It was a tour and a meal in the players lounge, I was about 7 and we went with the beavers.:p

I went again in the cubs, I was the chief cub and went to represent my troop, I must of been 9 I lined up along the pitch with loads of others with a massive flag.

My first match was liverpool v southampton in the league cup the season we beat man utd in the final. berger, baros and diouf scored it was one of kirkland first games. I was stood right at the back of the kop with a group of my friends only to discover some of my school teachers were sat behiend me lol. I was 17 at the time.

Unfortunatly ive never been in the kop scince but ive been in all the other stands and a few other stadiums.

:D :D :D

If i'm honest i can't actually pin point what my first game at anfield was. To the best of my knowledge it was in the 87-88 season against Wimbledon and we won 2-1 [Aldo & Barnes] (according to LIVERWEB)then again it could've been the following season; I know for sure it was against Wimbledon and that my Dad took us into the Anny road stand as he thought i wasn't old enough at 7 for the KOP.   Thankfully a couple of years later i went with him a few times into the KOP and the memory of knowing that I stood on that famous old terrace brings a warm glow to me insides - especially as people i know around my age never got to stand on it and are totally jealous of me  :D . Getting back to my first time at anfield i feel priviledged to have been able to see the great side of the late eighties in the flesh - the greats like HAnsen, Beardsley, Barnes, Aldridge & Rush to name just a few.

One game i do remember vividly was when i again went to see us play Wimbledon in the 94-95 season. Again i was in the Anny road stand and i remember that it was absolutely pissing it down and the Kop was being re-built so it didn't have a roof and all of the fans in that end were desperately trying to find any kind of shelter; about 5 mins after halftime there was an almighty crash of thunder and the sky was lit up by a massive flash of lightning. I have never seen so many people Shit themselves all at once and then leg it for cover.   Absolute quality, i absolutley pissed myself laughing  when it happened. :p
