First team squad for next season

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Assuming the Gonzalez, Palletta and Aurelio deals are in the bag, this is what I see the first team squad being like next season :

                            Reina
                            Carson

Aurelio         Hyypia       Carragher       Finnan
Riise            Agger        Palletta          Kromkamp

Gonzalez      Alonso       Gerrard                  ?
Kewell         Sissoko      Hamman         Sinama-Pongolle

                           Garcia
                               ?

                           Crouch
                              ?

Which leaves us 3 players short of a serious title challenge.  Personally I think that if we can get Wright-Phillips, Defoe and Kuyt (I know it's unlikely we have the money for all 3, so maybe 2 out of the 3), we will seriously be able to challenge Chelsea for the title.

Ok this is the plan when playing Chelsea next- the back 8 stop the ref from seeing anything,
Crouch and Alonso, Kewell and Sissoko stop one of the linesman from seeing anything
Sinama-Pongolle, Gerrard, Garica and the 2 keepers stop the other linesman
And Hamann and Gonzalez kill or destroy Essien's playing career (Hamann's revenge)

If we don't get a new right winger to next season.

Why not try Alonso on the right wing? He is not super fast but he should be able to cross like a king.

Crossing isn't the only thing you need to play on the wing. Alonso would be completely wasted out there. Gerrard can play out there, but never Xabi.
