I just wanted to see what everyone's opinion of Steve Finnan is on here.

My personal opinion is that the lad is absolutely ******! I can't stand him, he is scared to put a tackle in on anyone and he certainly cannot cross the ball. I was shouting at my telly all last night when he kept taking the free kicks.

I don't understand why people rate him, just my view, what is yours, he doesn't deserve to play for Liverpool.

I have seen more from Josemi in 1 & a half matches than I have seen from Finnan since he joined us.

Everyones got an opinion rafa and i to thought he was ****** last season as i was expectin alot more, but last night he looked a better player and his crossin was great, i know hes not the obvious choose to take are set pieces but i dont think he let us down once in that department .

I just don't rate him, and last nite I thought he played ****** aswell, haha i havent half got it in for him, put it this way he has to proove ALOT to me :cool:

i thought he played well. he was riddled wit injury last season and looked weak, but this is his season. hope he keeps his place. only irish representative left at anfield excluding potter. his crooses were very good. he put a few right on hyypias head. you couldnt have placed them better with your hands. it could be a hidden talent

Disagree.

Wouldn't be my ideal right sided midfielder, but I was surprised how well he did last night. I thought he delivered a lot of quality balls from set pieces and open play.

I dont like seeing players out of position and for me he is a defender who enjoys coming forward when the moment is right, in the position he plays for Ireland.

I think we all like to blame one individual for all the ****** players at anfield and finnan just happens to be Rafa! My personally is Diao!!! followed by smicer and shortly by diouf and biscan!

Finnan has been one of Ireland's best players for the past three years. If he can transfer his Fulham & international form to the red shirt i'll be very happy.

Thought he had a reasonable game last night, missed a few tackles and was sluggish, but it was the first game.
Give him a chance, the forward line weren't that impressive and was Riise playing?

Finnan was an ordinary full back at Fulham and hes an ordinary full back at Liverpool. We should never have signed him. Hes just filling in because we have no one else right now. Once we get some new lads in he wont feature.

i am not a big fan of finnan myself AT ALL!! he didnt play very weel in his last club anyway dont even not why we signed him
