Reina, Arbeloa, Carra, Agger, Riise, Pennant, Alonso, Gerrard, Kewel, Kuyt, Voronin

Subs:

Martin
Finnan
Hyypia
Torres
Benayoun
Crouch
Babel
Mascherano
Sissoko

With the exception of Finnan for Arbeloa I would reckon that will be the team that will be the team we will start with vs Villa next week. Rafa will learn from last year and send out an experienced EPL team on opening day!

Not too many of the new boys in there but I reckon that's a good thing. Ease them in over a number of games.

Sopcast with Dutch commentators.

Riise totally at fault when they scored.

Kuyt's goal was across the line - too bad none of the officials saw it.

Liverpool still inherited the same problem from last year. Lack of inventiveness to penetrate and create real chances. Seriously, how to be challengeing for the PL title next year? The problem today at first half: Midfield fails to help out in attack (too deep in their own half). Keep attacking from one side (right side), not pushing the ball from left to right and vice-versa. Too much looping the ball over with little hope of reaching or getting to another player. And the worst... total lack of ideas.  The first 10-15 mins was pretty ok.. but after that.... sigh.

We really need to get a new playmaker (who has ideas) or good wingers that can run at defenses and cross properly. Pennant has been woeful up till now. All his crosses are aimless. Yeah he made some good run.. but what is the point if the crosses are useless. The end product matters the most... How to win if you can't score?

seriously struggling to create genuine chances!

Its just like last year.. Boring, lack of imagination and ideas, too many long balls...  Watching Arsenal youngsters is more enjoyable.
