Liverpool have this evening confirmed that striker Fernando Morientes has joined Valencia for an undisclosed fee.
The Spanish striker didn't manage to live up to his reputation during his sixteen months on Merseyside and managed just 12 goals in 61 games for the Reds.

He was left out of the Spanish squad for this summer's World Cup after failing to play a major role in the Liverpool first team last season.

Everybody at Liverpool FC would like to wish Nando all the best with his new club in Spain.

Best of luck to Nando...I'm sure he'll regain his form in Spain.  I'm disappointed he didn't work out for us but he was a model professional.  Walk On.

Love the way the that even the official site has a parting dig.

Regrettably he never settled. Nando is class but he's just not suited to the Premiership. He's a prime example of why, when buying a striker, you should buy players proven in the Premiership (Owen... cough), but that's another thread. :)

Good luck to him, and I'm sorry it didn't work out, but this is not an end, it's a beginning. Come on Rafa, let's get it right this time.
