Chelsea used to cripple teams with their wingers Jose Mourhino has stamped his mark on that Porto team.

Our mistake was in the summer not buying two quality wingers.

Dont get me wrong I have got to like Pennants crosses but he doesnt score goals.

Babel excells for Holland when I see him play for Holland I think I wish he played for us, errrrr hang on he does.
So whats the problem?
Babel is one world class player playing for Holland Kuyt doesnt even get a look in?
I am confused.

We should not have bought Benioun he is not good enough neither is Pennant TBH.

They are players to bring off the bench FFS we are bigger than Chelsea or Man U they should be honoured to even be here.

But then you have Rafa and say we have a team with world class wingers and strikers he will rotate them.
We where after that Quasimodo fella, say we would have bought him, he would not have played against Portsmouth anyway.  :D  ARRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH

so what... now we're not letting him have an off day just because he's been tremendous for us almost every game?

In the last 12 months I can count on my fingers when he's played up to his level. He has been no where near his standards bar the Chelsea game and Villa game he's played this season.

When he doesn't play well he should be criticized like every other player. More so because he is the captain.

Well, if you think about it, if it weren't for dodgy ref's and penaltys, we'd be top of the league, and have three points in the CL. That's not all bad, is it? We just need to stop conceiding pens and we'll be grand. :D

I think I can take one positive from the game, which is aurelio looking sharp. Did you see how he layed it off to gerrard in the end (our last chance of the game, when gerrard cut brilliantly and passed to kuyt)? wonderful vision. He looked composed and i thought he did well.

Awful performance, and Porto kept falling and falling.

I only saw one player who played for the red shirt he wore tonight and that was Kuyt i know he scored tonight but if the lad could finish like he works ill tell you some thing he would be the best striker in the world

we were just outclassed today, gerrard wasnt the only one to have a shocker, were were out moved, out paced and techniquely showed up

players with normal great technique like torres, babel and mascherano looked like pub team players

and carragher should not be allowed to make those pointless long balls anymore. too many

My mother thinks otherwise my mother think all our players are intimidated by him.
There for they play better and take their own inicitive when he isnt playing.
That I would agree on but saturday against Portsmouth was dreadful.  :sniffle

Not our best performance but given we played the last third of the game with ten men , a decent result and not a Wopdong in sight .

I'm not Kuyt's biggest fan, but he played with pride that you associate with LFC tonight.

The only player on our side that looked interested.

Struggling to find a decent excuse for our performance tonight. The only one I can think of is the players havent had much chance to train. Away with their national sides last week, game on Saturday then travelling to Porto. Or maybe we just don't play well against teams who's name starts with a "P".

Gerrard did have a poor game and its fair enough to say that! But in reality our whole midfield did'nt really perform tonight.

It was a very strange game and a very unLiverpool like performanceIt seemed at times they were playing in slow motion.I feel they rattled us a bit at the opening of the game and it took us a bit to recover from it...the penalty was a penalty(thats the first this season i agree with)but apart from that i feel the ref got little or nothing right the rest of the night!

Porto obviously had a game plan and in a way it worked. They never really let us play, they were all good at staying on their feet when things were going there way but as soon as at looked as if we were gonna gain posession one of their players hit the grass in dramatic style....Kind of shameful as it created a game that was nowhere near the picture of the spectacle it had potential to be!
But if cr@p referees are so weak and useless they can be exploited it is not against the rules, nevertheless not good to watch whether you are a Porto fan,an adoring red or neutral!

As for the result well thats presumably our toughest game of the 6 out of the way and a point is a decent return.....Next game is Marseille at Anfield which is a MUST WIN.....because they won tonight.
Cisse scored as well..mmmnnn not at Anfield ya wont son!!
