well yeah knowing us we wont even qualify but then it still wouldnt be fair, stranger things happen, like greece in euro 2004.  the money would come in handy for us, i know we probably wont get anywhere, we havent got the players. unless we do a lot of signing this summer.

as i say, either way there is going to be upset.

the fa are ****** at the best of times so god knows what will happen.

I don't think it would be fair on Everton to change the situation, everybody has accepted that the top 4 qualify for CL. If they get it then they should qualify.

It is LFCs own fault that we have been so poor over the season, our squad is fairly fit now but dropped 7 points against Spurs/palace/boro in recent weeks. If we'd won those games there'd be no debate.

I do, however, think Uefa should give the champions the chance to enter the qualifiers, play some albanian team in an extra qualifiying around (they'd prob be happy with glamour draw), win 3 or 4 ties and then we'd be back in CL.

As I have told you in one of my previous messages, I am a Real Zaragoza supporter, and xd3vdlx (What a nick!)  confirmed a reality: we were fourth in the Spanish League, but Real Madrid were fifth and they won the Champions League. They took our place.

My favourite English team is Liverpool. I hope that now it will not happen the opposite, and they allow Liverpool to defend the title we will win in Istambul. Otherwise I will get really mad. I was very disappointed once. I hope I don't get a similar frustration once more.  :veryangry  :veryangry  :veryangry  :veryangry

This is all down to UEFA simple as.
This was bound to happen and I for one dont blame Everton.

There will have to be a rule change as if we win then the competition will just not be the same next year as everyone wants to beat or knock out the winner

Yes, but UEFA have left the choice down to the English FA to decide.

If we don't get in next year we have nobody to blame but ourselves for some very poor performances, especially every time Everton f*cked up.

No matter what happens, I will be supporting Liverpool next year, whether it be UEFA cup or Champions League, I just want us to do well in whatever competition we compete in. Don't get me wrong though, I will be gutted if we don't get to defend to CL if we win it.

Just suppose for a minute that Sh*tski were in our boat. Or Man U, etc. The frickers would be straight in in place of Everton. I think the FA need to sort their biased ways out, before they make a decision. I'm sick and tired of the FA a*s licking the tos*er teams, then screwing us into the bargain. How can anyone in their right mind refuse to allow the holders to defend the trophy!?!(Which I hope we soon will be!!!!!) It makes no sense, devalues the competition, and I believe that if this scenario does come about, we'd be quite within our rights to sue UEFA for their utterly idiotic rule. It's akin to relegating the league champions if they get knocked out of the FA cup in the quater finals. Total absurdety, with a bunch of looneys deciding the outcome. Pathetic. Lets just hope UEFA shoot Guillard, and change the rules BEFORE next season. Up the 'pool!

I think the FA will take the easy option and say fourth spot gets it. The thing that really annoys the ****** out of me is that this happeend in spain to Real Madrid a few years ago. They were allowed to defend the champions league at the expense of the fourth team (real were fith). I think we would also see the same thing happen here if it was Man Ushited.

At the end of the day the rules are wrong what sort of tournament doesn't allow its champion the chance of being a defending champion?

I disagree...sorry... but should we win I think the easy decision is to drop the bluenoses and let the champions rightfully defend their title.

The bluenoses have had an excellent season and fully justify being in 4th place but there would be no problems at all if it were Bolton in 4th place.  So bollix to Moyes & the bluenoise.

Lets get this fooking thing won and stir up some serious sh1t C'MON YOU REDS  :buttrock

Absolutely seething with UEFA over this. Already had my rant. I guess we gotta go and get ourselves a win at the library on Saturday.

Silver lining - A little less pressure on the boys for the final with European qualification no longer riding on the outcome.

Just a thought - What would happen if we somehow finished outside the UEFA Cup qualifying spots? Would we even get a place in that competition? Sorry to all you Paddies but the rules are bloody Irish!

The FA's decision was made with the Bolton and Ars.e Chairmen casting a vote.. is this an objective decision... NO

Real finsihed CL champions five years ago and finished 5th in La Liga.. what do the Spanish FA do.. enter Real :)   what do the English FA do.. plump for the weakest option..  once again the English mentality of punishing winners prevails.. they promote a the losing mentality..

On Talksport .. there is a lively debate on the issue.. the owner of the Welsh Champions has offered (on air) to play in a "play-off" against us should this scenario occur.. if the right financial package cud be agreed. :)  how sweet of them.. shame on the FA:angry:

Muppest and idiots... these ppl who run the game ... hope PArry is consulting his legal mates.. I say we should take legal action aganist UEFA..
