Persist with it, it becomes clear.

I'm sure a few locals (Scousers) on here would concur and appreciate this read:

Good read that ,and cleverly written ,Its no secret the most  hardcore of  Mancs have already left the club ,and are now supporting
AFC United ,whilst the more malleable labour under the pretence they're the true fans .

I suppose, if anything it lays bare that particular fallacy.  :D They cant even bear witness to their own demise ,and their refusal to accept they
lost their identity the moment they let the Glazers dip their shitty fingers in the pie .

“We don’t give a Sh*t and we don’t give a f*ck, we’re going home with the Cup Winners’ Cup” .....Classic that proves we're the song writers  :)

that`s a brilliant article, the lad is spot on.
we are going down the same road ourselves, conversations between our fans these days sound more like discussions between accountants and advertising executives than footy supporters.
i`ve worked in manchester a few times and it`s quite scary how similar scousers and mancs are alike in terms of their view of the world. we even used to speak like them until the irish arrived and changed our accent.

A very absorbing read from a very disgruntled proletariate. So true his feelings of the 'modern day' fan. Brilliant

That is one well put article. The problem is many supporters are spoilt kids who are given the money by mummy and daddy to attend whatever match is next, or, depending on how spoilt they are, what country they can attend the match in.

And because they attend, instantly, they know more than any other supporter as "they were at that match". The same thing exists with Liverpudlians. Especially Liverpool supporters who live in Liverpool. They could be a supporter of Liverpool for all of 5 minutes but instantly they know better than every Liverpool supporter outside of Liverpool because they live in Liverpool.

And it stinks.
And it will never change.

I've had people in the States (usually British) come up to me when I've got one of my Liverpool kits on and ask me if I'm a scouser.  When I say no, they just turn and walk away because they automatically assume I'm not a real supporter.  I'll usually chase them down, figure out who they support, and when I know more about what's going on with their own club than they do then they'll either get ***** at me like I'm making Sh*t up, or actually talk football with me for a bit.
DESPITE THE FACT I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA...
