Biscan has admitted there were some low points in his Anfield career under previous manager Gerard Houllier who played him anywhere but his best position in central midfield.
The Croatian international is no longer classed as a laughing stock by fans and pundits alike nor is he a scapegoat when things do not go as well as perhaps they should.
A man of the match performance in Deportivo La Coruna, a brilliant goal at Fulham and fantastic performances against Millwall and Middlesbrough in the Carling Cup has shown Biscan has the quality needed to play for Liverpool Football Club's first team.
Biscan said: "It has been difficult for me, but now everyone can see this is my real position. This is where I played before I joined Liverpool and this is why the club bought me in the first place.
"In the last six months I feel I have improved because I only play in central midfield now. Since pre-season, especially, I'm a more confident player. That makes a big difference, no matter who you are, and the new manager has influenced my game in a positive way.
"Whenever I hear the crowd sing 'Igor, Igor' it means a lot to me. It was especially important to me when I felt low. For as long as I'm here, I want to give the fans who've been so good to me something back.
"I hope they'll judge me on the effort I put in and the performances I gave in my natural position. You can have a bad day, or you can play well, but as long as you always try your best you can do no more. Even when things went badly, I always tried my best.
"I want to improve even more. In the last four years I feel I've played everywhere else more than my natural position but I won't use that as excuse for not playing well. The fact remains I haven't given the performance I expected after I signed for Liverpool.
"I am enjoying playing football again though and I feel in the games I played this season I've proved I can do it. I feel as though I've shown some people I can actually play football."Part of my ambition this season was simply to show I deserve to play for Liverpool Football Club. Even if I'm only a third choice, that brings responsibility and the first thing I had to do was prove I was even worth that much.
"When you play well and the team gets a good result, everything feels so much better. That's what's happening with me now. I feel I'm showing my best and getting more involved as a midfielder.
"If I play as good as I can whenever my chance comes, I'll be happy. There are so many good players in my position, world class players. Any chance is good for me.
"I've been using the cup games to enjoy myself because that's not something I've been able to do much before."
The Croat says he was at a low ebb after the UEFA Cup defeat in Marseille when he was sent-off and then made something of a scapegoat by previous manager Gerard Houllier.
Biscan said: "There were times I really wanted to move on because I thought the best solution would be to change things for myself.
"I knew that I needed to play more in midfield and show how good I am. About 18 months ago I was very close to leaving but something happened at the last minute.
"I never expected it to be easy when I came here four years ago, but I never thought so much would have happened to me. But I try not to look back at things which didn't go well. I want to look forward and be positive."
