Seeing as though he's available on a free in the summer do you think he would be a good buy as we need some good experienced players and he wouldn't cost anything.  ???

Too expensive (salary wise) and too temperamental. But a bulldog if he can be tamed (unlikely). I say get him double quick :D

Davids was very good on Saturday against the Czech republic.

I heard this morning that Barcelona have withdrawn their offer to him and he is now a free agent again.

I would certainly sign him, but especially so if Gerrard is going.

Davids thrives on the international stage where midfielders are given time on the ball, but in the cut and thrust of the premiership I reckon a small fella like Davids would get swallowed up.
The teams at the top of the premierships all have physically big, strong and aggressive central midfieders e.g. Gerrard, Keane, Vieira.
Remember how Roy Keane put Davids in his pocket in the '99 european cup quarter final and in the 2002 world cup qualifier against the dutch in Dublin ?

He won't play against Keane every week. If he's free and the salary is reasonable I'd go for him. :)

Seems odd to me that clubs are not exactly banging at David's door ????

I like Gattusso of Spain but am aware he didn't succeed at Glasgow.

Whose Benitez runoured to be bringing with him from Valencia ?

Davids would only be a short term option and not the player we need.
The Prem Lge is the fastest in the world and Davids at 32 is getting slower by the day.

IMO if Gerrard does go to chelsea then we should make sure we get Scott Parker,Glen Johnson and 20m+

Parker would be an ideal replacement as he was nearly as good as Gerrard the last 2 seasons in a much worse team than ours.
He is great in the tackle, loves making foward runs is a good passer and has an eye for goal.
He must realise he has no future at chelsea as he couldnt even get in the team last season in his best position.

Johnson is a very promising young player who can play right mid aswell as right back.2 positions in which we have struggled with for awhile now.
He is a very attacking player who scores goals and would provide us with alot more going forward than Finnan and Carragher or even diouf ever did.
He too must be unsettled with Ferreira on his way and would be a great player for us.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

He is a wild animal. Good ball winner, great touch and good reader of the game. He is a determined player. Davids does not like to settle for a draw even. And now he is free! Please get him. He will be useful for at least 1 season.

Me so worried about signing any temperamental Dutch players. High wage demand...disrupt team harmony etc.

Personally I'd use the Gerrard money to sign Albelda, Costinha and Carvalhio to beefen up our midfield and defence and concentrate on getting first principles right again.

After that I'd look for a guy like Aimar or Rosicky to add a bit of panache, but first things first, Benetiz needs to get us fighting and defending properly again.
