Cancer consultant is very pleased with Phil's response to treatment, cancer is now half the size it was and they are reducing some of his medications.  Only got 4 radiotherapy treatments left then its all steam ahead to get him home and back posting to you lovely people.

Consultant still stands by his original 6 to 12 months but Phil's great response to the treatment could give him longer and hopefully a better quality of life.  Even if the cancer is no longer showing on scans the consultant informs us that it will still be there but Phil has been given a second chance for now, all depends on what pace the bas***d cancer grows back and if it appears elsewhere in his body, but for now we rejoice and look forward to living each day as it comes and hopefully sharing good times and bad with you all.

Thanks for everything you are all my rock.

Deepest regards.

Brilliant stuff. Really delighted to hear the progress he's made.

The lengths that boy will go to to get back here and give us hell. :D

All the best once again to Phil, Karen and all of their family. I'm sure there's a sh*tload of fighting still to be done with that c*nting illness, but remember every small victory and it makes the bigger ones seem so much less imposing.

Thank God.

I'm truely happy that you're responding to the treatment Phil, and now you are, the next 4 may make it even smaller (I hope).
I'm happy for both of you, and for your kids. It's about time you all got a lucky break.

Can't wait to have you back on here mate.

It's been far too long.

Hi Everyone,

Just had a message from Phil and he is really p***ed of because they have told him he will be having 5 extra treatments which means longer in hospital he is so, so, so, so desperate to get home but have tried to console him by telling him that the more radiotherapy he can have now means a greater chance of shrinking the cancer and a greater chance of life but it is very difficult because he just wants to come home, he says he feels like he is in prison.

Things are definitely moving on the home front and a electric bed, hoist etc are being delivered this Friday, although they have advised me that for now Phil will be housebound and probably not enable to be moved downstairs or outside but we will keep working on it.

There have been problems with the hospital pay phones and Phil has no communication with me so the staff have allowed me to take in a mobile phone for him but usage is restricted and Phil mainly uses it to text me, I am going to PM the number to Johnnymac so he can use his discretion on the release of the number but please, please, please, DON't RING IT !!!, please just text him (if you so wish) and at least it is one step closer for you all to communicate more directly with him and sure it will make "prison" a little bit more bearable.

Take care.

Karen xx
