Karen,

Our thoughts are with you & Phil.

Try & remain positive as the will to live is a very strong thing and I am sure that Phil has the inner strength that can really help him now,  his desire to watch us grow even stronger next year can do wonderful things.

You need to make sure you get plenty of rest too!!.

Take care    x x

mrsDrummerphil wrote:Hi Everyone, feel really, really, really over the moon for you all and yes it was a very stressfull game!  I didnt dare to whatch most of it and had to keep running to the bathroom feeling sick !  I was so worried Phil wouldnt be able to whatch it and I rang at 1.00 and they said he had his FA shirt on and was getting exited, but they also said that he had asked for Lorazepan tablet ( suppose to have this to calm him down when getting too stressed) only thing is it knocks him out for the count.  When I got to the hospital he was very spaced out but had written loads about the game in his book ( he calls this his memory and writes everything down what is happening to him because his short time memory is beginning to fail) wasnt really able to talk to him much he keeps drifting to sleep and when awake rambles alot and it is quite distressing not being able to help him.

Anyway he rang this morning wanting to tell me all about the game and started to say  he wanted me to post in his words :" Phil was given a new drug 90 mins before kick off and it knocks him out and he missed the first half.  He then woke up during 2nd half very distressed that they were losing, he also found himself asking for morphine and any other help because he was finding the score too depressing"  :Phil then started to drift onto other things but I will look at his book (memory) today and hopefully be able to post more of his comments to you.

Although this may be difficult for a few days as he is demanding I take his laptop to hospital today (we are trying to sort something out for him but it is taking time and Phil carnt wait) dont really know what he is going to do with it until we sort out if a internet connection is possible (even have a techno friend trying to hack into the hospitals system) but I will have to take it in just to keep him calm.  Our internet at home comes through Phils laptop first and my pc is connected onto it, therefore once I disconnect the laptop I will not be able to get onto the internet until my techno mate can come and sort my connection out.

Thanks for all your comments regarding the game was for Phil and once again I am just so pleased you won.

Karen x

Shame to hear that he's losing his short term memory. Hang in there Phil

I can't get this paypal b*llocks to work so I'm sending a cheque on the morrow.

I feel really bad about how long it's taken, but I just can't get the f*cking thing to work no matter what I do. They just aren't sending me the confirmation email to activate the account.

F*ck modern technology. :D

I want to send sincere thanks to Mrs Drummerphil, because sending us this feedback about Drummerphil. It's important to me because it's like having a bit of Drummerphil here, and when I think how many things she must take care of, children, Phil, everything, I cannot but be grateful to her for finding the time to write those lines.

The battle isn't easy, but it wasn't meant to be easy. Walk on Phil!!

Stayed at the Holiday Inn, Newport on saturday night. I'd told all me mates about your plight Phil and how part of me really felt like the boys had done it for ya, they all joined me in raising a glass to ya pal and sent their best wishes. We even had  a couple of hammers that had latched on to us who raised their glass as well. You're a true red Phil and because of that you're part of a huge family and you really will NEVER walk alone pal. That one was for you mate, CHEERS!

I am deeply saddened to hear about this, I haven't been on the forum as much as i would like over the past few months due to a new job and that and I know that drummerphil is a pivotal member of this site. He's one of my favourites as he was the drummer in a def leppard tribute band!lol! I hope you get well soon mate. Forget that 6-12 months to live You can do it. Think of Istanbul and Cardiff! I'll be thinking of you. God bless.

Hows things with Phil?
I also like The Greedo was telling people about him, and sang YNWA for him after the game.
Still thinking of you Phil Karen and family.
Best wishes and get back on here a.s.a.p Phil.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

i will be ringing the hospital today from my work, and hopefully he may be up to a chat etc.

Depending on his state of health, and i will ask karens permissin, i would like to drive down there and shake the mans hand. He is the bravest person i have had the privelage of talking to.

the hospital there said he is unable to get out of bed, and they dont have a direct line to his bed (like in other hospitals). Nonetheless, i was happy to hear he is a fighter (thats what the staff nurse said).

good on you phil. Love to all your family.

when your well again, you can buy the beers mate :)
