Down but not out... - How are we placed?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

But in both seasons we were out of the title realistically pretty early and still stand by the point that we only ended up so well in the 05/06 season due to us going out of the CL early - if we had gone on further in the CL then we wouldnt of ended up with 82 points IMO - the team that year was decent but nowhere near the standard of chelsea or the mancs .

Yet we beat them BOTH in the FA CUP THAT YEAR.

Cups Saint Cups we got beat by them both in the league TWICE including 4-1 by Chelsea at home- we beat them both TWICE last season . The season 06/07 we beat chelsea both league and prem , also stuffed arsenal 4-1 . one off games as opposed to over the whole season .

You two are worse than two grannys. :)

Anyway, 6 points off the top with 90 points on the board. Now, I'm not Carol Vorderman, but I reckon we've a slight mathematical chance of catching up. Are we out of it? Are we f*ck!

I think Agger and Aquilani will hopefully inspire the team to play well! And Gerrard better play well because Aquilani rates him as the best midfielder in the world, so Gerrard pull your socks up son and show just how good you are to Aquilani. Hopefully Agger will put pressure on Skrtel and Carragher which hopefully improves there game. And that applies to Lucas with Aquilani coming in hopefully he offers competition.
What our boys need to do is work together as a team, especially Masch pass the :censored: ball to Lucas! We're a team of 11 players of not a 2 man team even though we looked like a 6 man team against Chelsea because Gerrard,Kuyt,Carragher,Insua and Reira were all pretty shocking.

So we got more points and won a cup in 2006
Followed by a season in which we got 14 points less and won nothing, having spent another £25million on new players.

My case rests    :D

Case full of holes - Prem results dependant on how we do in the latter stages of the CL . The results are their to see .

And the more point was that team of 05/06 while decent was nowhere near good enough to challenge for the Prem . :D

You mean the Jinx ? We have never won ANYTHING since he came. It has cost us almost £160million in transfers to get back to were we were before we signed him points wise,  and we still havent won anything!

Both his previous clubs won cups shortly after he left, while after over 6 years playing for top four sides and one of the top National teams he has won nothing!

Before he arrived we had won the CL, the FA CUP and the  EUROPEAN SUPER CUP finishing with 82 points in the league.

The season he arrived, we went out of the FA CUP AT THE FIRST HURDLE, WON NOTHING and finished on 68 points.

Even the charity shield we won that year was won before he was signed   :D

Torres won the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP with Spain, Masch has won three league titles and the olympic games twice! Agger has won the Danish league and cup and the FA CUP WITH LIVERPOOL
