no can't see any improvement to arsenal - they look a very poor, very old and boring to watch side who are nowhere to be seen in the league or champions league !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as for judging our performances so far - do you think we have shown an improvement?

1/4 of the way through the season is more than enough games to gauge where we're at - and where we're at is no closer to the top than when houllier was in charge

I seem to remeber Livepool coming from behind to win the league a number of times, once from the bottom half I think.

I remember United overturning a 12 point gap with Newcastle once to win hte leauge with 15 games to go.

We have played just 11 games.

The thing is Dawson, that the people going overboard are the same people who probably stamp their feet when they don't get their own way. Or shout and scream until they get a milkshake.

In essence, they are either very young, or very stupid.

We have played just 11 games.

Those teams were proven league winners though. We are further behind Manure now than three years ago when it looked like they might go into decline.

We had great cup runs but over the course of a season we only had one decent league campaign.

I think we MUST wait until the end of the season but if we don't challenge for the league this season then RAFA should probably go in the Summer.

What I always liked about Liverpool and other English clubs is how they back the manager and let him work long term with a team. In South America, if a team looses 3 games in a row, the manager is sacked. My team Universitaro has had 4 managers so far this season and that has taken us nowhere (and it hasn't for years). Rafa is building a great team, he is planning for the future and so far this season has been unlucky with injuries which have really affected the team selection. IMO let the manager work, he has accomplished great things with a limited team in the past, he can accomplish even more with the big squad he wants in the future.

I don't know why we bother discussing getting rafa out because it wouldn't happen until the end of the season and by that time we could be in extemely different circumstances.

I pretty much think the same and have the same perception about what sacking a manager brings. Sacking an average manager is often a gamble in which you dont even have a 40% of success, sacking a good manager now it would be very Spanish and very unlike the Liverpool and English style I've always admired. Globalization I guess, mate.

However, most of the posters here do criticise Rafa but do not want him sácked. However, the amount of people that wants him sácked is bigger than I thought some months back, when people were nervous because yet another approach of Real Madrid.

Would you be wanting him out if we had beaten Milan in Athens last May?

You wouldn't

Would anyone?

i don't believe so

actually I would because for me the league is more important. The European success is very very nice but it's the league that I want, and I can't see Rafa with his insane rotation policy which everybody disagrees with not just a few ex-players. Almost every single pundit disagrees with it, and they can't all be idiots.

So you'd want a man that would have brought us two European cups to Anfield, and established us as the main force in Europe once again out? Bollox, mate!  :no

I don't want to see him leave, I want him to be given as long as it takes for him to win the Premiership and hopefully many years after that. IF he will be given that time remains to be seen but thats a whole new topic.

I have listened to people ringing phone ins all night saying rubbish like " He ( Rafa) asked for funds to buy players, he got it and They/We still don't look any better"

Yes he was given some money, but we all know he hasn't brought in the quality of players he feels we need, that could be that they are over priced or he has not been given enough funds ( I think we all knew he was never going to get a blank cheque for transfers).

I for one NEVER thought we would win the Premiership this season, I think that once he gets rid of the dead, wood some of which he bought ( NO manager gets it right every time) then we will be the team that most people thought we would be this year and we will win the Premiership with Rafa as our Manager we just need to give him the time to build the team he wants instead of what we have at the moment which is the team he could afford.
