I think Traore should go ASAP!. He plays clumsy and fragile football.

Traore signed from hometown club Laval for £550,000 in February 1999.

2002-2003 Stats
1st team games: 75
1st team goals: 1
International caps: France U-18
International goals: 0
Total Appearances 39
Avg Goal Mins When Starting 0.0
Avg Mins Played/Goal Scored 0
Goals  0
Pens. 0
Assists 0
Shots 0
Corners won 3
Succ. Crosses 6
Fouls won 34
Passes failed 317 (!!!)

Gerard Houllier described him as 'a player with great potential and a big player for the future'. Traore broke into the first team at the start of the 2000/01 season, making his Premiership debut in a 1-0 win over Bradford City at Anfield. The departure of Dominic Matteo to Leeds gave him a chance but he showed his inexperience in his early games and the signing of Christian Ziege from Middlesbrough appeared to have halted his run in the team. But injury to the German international gave Traore another chance in the first team - only for the player himself to get injured once more. Traore failed to win his place back in the side and was actually overtaken by Gregory Vignal in the pecking order.

I first saw Tarore play in a reserves match away at Bradford City a couple of seasons ago. He had a good game then.
A few year on however, I think he isn't cut out to be in our first team.
Unfortunately, he is one of the many players who should be put on the scrap heap at the end of the season.

He's a decent player. Better than Biscan, we wouldn't recoup alot of money for him.

He's quick, a good tackler, strong, and can win a header. He's he's not a bad player at all and wasn't signed for alot of money. For me i'd keep hold of him even if we signed another centre back just to make up the numbers. For me he's well worth a place in the squad, he's now got a bit of experience and can play in two positions and could do a job for a few games if we have a major injury crisis.

Id have to agree with Stu here. Heres a decent squad player but he cant play right back. I think centre back is his place and with the right coaching and a decent run i think could do well. Theres also no point in selling him as wed get nothing back.
verdict: squad player

What about stats telling his succeded crosses were only 6 and 317 passes were failed in overall 39 games?

He was not expensive, it is true. But does he deserve the sum of his current salary as well?

I don npot rate Traore at all.  I think he is a player who had potential but like so many others he failed to make the grade.  He should be out of Anfield and off and over-inflated payroll at the end of the season.

He's very good at timing his tackles and is very quick, but his touch and passing is abysmal, i used to get scared every time he touched the ball! i think hes had his chance time for a change

Traore is the only defender with decent pace. He can play on the left and in the centre. His payroll is not that big, and with time (and a new manager of course) he could become useful.
