Do you feel the despair - What's the point

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Ok brothers and sisters stick your hands in the air if you feel the blame.  Your supposed to be the Liverpool faithful, you know 'You'll never walk alone' heres a wee spanish man that brought you the biggest trophy in world club football, got you to the final last year and many of you want to hang him out to dry.  Are Hicks and Gillett too far away to blame anymore.  I dont believe in Rafa and Im waiting for him to drop his crappy rotation system but the fact is he's a damn sight better manager than Souness, Evans and Houllier.  Go and read Kiplings poem 'if' you'll find that Rafa is more than a man. Keeping his head while all around are losing theres and blaming it on you.   The fact is that regardless of what anyone here thinks, Rafa is Gone, out the door, our two American owners will see to that, he will only stay if he wins the Champions league. So here the point.  There is no point moaning and crying about things now be realistic support the guy and our team because no matter what garbish we peddle here the decision is already been made it can only be reversed by getting to Moscow and winning and i for one will accept that. some of may not but then maybe you still can't see that the premiership is not the biggest competition in the world, the champions league is.  Those who doubt me know nothing and care nothing about how the rest of the world thinks.  If Liverpool are to build a large stadium to hold 60,000 then they need to be more commercial and appeal to more that the scousers who can afford to go the drunken Irish who fall into Liverpool every other weekend and the vikings who also drop in now and again from Scandanavia. Hey "Big" Al (you're probably 5'nothing) - how drunk were you when you wrote this horse- :censored:?  Go to hell in a handcart boy.  I'm Irish, as are thousands of loyal fans.  I doubt I'm ever as drunk (or as frequently) as you and your particular brand of jingoism isn't welcome.  Idiot.

You maybe Irish my friend and if you ever chose to read any of my other posts you'd know that I am too. difference is I feel guilty about sitting at Anfield when the true faithful can't afford to get in. The Scallies that cramped the streets of Liverpool after Istanbul while you and me and most of our country men sat on the :censored: watching on TV as we do most weekends.  Do patronise me about Liverpool we don't know anything about Liverpool my friend but at least i am aware of that and not kidding myself. 4 more years

Big Al, nobody is doubting that the European Cup is a bigger trophy than the Premiership. But that doesn't make a blind bit of difference. The Premiership is the one all Liverpool fans want. If the European Cup comes along, it's a bonus, but the league should be priortiy for every Liverpool fan.

A few things Al:  I know you're Irish.  I'm NOT your "friend" and maybe YOU sat on your couch watching Istanbul and the homecoming but I've got the ticket stub and the memories standing outside George Hall as well as a hundred afternoons down at Anfield that tells me I'm not some mouthy ooter like you.  Don't lecture me boy and DON'T EVER disrespect your own.  What the :censored: did your parents teach you?

yes its important to the fans, but since which point in Liverpools recent history have fans mattered.  Fans stopped mattering when most of the fans who now sit at Anfield and Old Trafford are,nt from Liverpool or Manchester.  I'm sorry to say this but to steal an Eric Bristow cliche.  the premierships for show the champions league for dough.  The fans will still come, but rafa's problem is that he knows the foreign players won't.  Do you really think Torres and co care about the league title.  Look At Spain and you'll see a mulitutude of managers winning La Liga and still getting the boot because they failed in The Champions league. We live in a different football world.

I'll tell you when fans stopped mattering, NEVER. The fans have the biggest say. So what if we have fans around the world, I'm sure everyone of them wants the Premiership title, more than the European Cup.

If players don't want to come and play for this club, based on the sole reason that we are Liverpool Football Club then they should be shown the door straight away, like Lucas Neill did. He contemplated signing for this club, so Benitez (rightly) told him to :censored: off.

it all changed when sky "sanitized" the game.  not when people from outside liverpool started going to liverpool games. This isnt an ooters versus scousers issue, the premier league changed football in england and Liverpool FC were playing catch up since, it has nothing to do with where the supporters at the games come from. Look at Utd. they are successful despite a vast amount of matchgoing fans not being from Manchester. Utd simply capitalised on things quicker than we did and having a bigger stadium than us. simple as.

I dont think its the fact that Torres and co dont care Al, its more they dont understand as much as the likes of Gerrard and Carragher.
I just wish people would stop jumpin down each others throats on here, everyone has an opinion on things ...dont like it...then move on

good point. its funny tho because if you look at Seria 1, dwindling crowds, etc they and the spanish were the first to really start importing foreigners into the game (from South America etc) they were paying bigger money at the time. Now the premier league is where the money is will the same thing happen in england? will the fans get disillusioned with the game like the fans seem to have in Italy? too many mercanaries etc?...just a thought....
