when i first heard of the propossed take over and the thought of mega spending money coming our way, i instantly started thinking about who we can buy and if im honest i had 5 or 6 new players that id want in the first team......all of them costly and rated players. now tho the more i read through several posts on the boards the more i dont want 5 or 6 big players.

now im starting to come round to BarryBelfast's way of thinking. we should work on the excellent squad that we've already got. we can beat any team on the day and we've got a big enough squad to cover when needs be. we need to keep workin on bringing the best out of our players and gaining that much needed stability. you can see in our previous games (even tho they were against struggling teams) that there is progress being made slowly but surely.

we've got alot of new players that have been involved in a heavy rotation policy to date and things take time in those situations.

it will come...

Trivial...thats a favourite word of an old friend of mine!!

I argue monkey because i am right...i take folk like you with a pinch of salt as newbies dont usually have such an agenda  to try and pi.ss off an individual!

I know who you are and in time it will be obvious to the rest on here!
You always have to rear your head in the end...if not you feel more pathetic than you already are ....its called getting noticed!

What did you say again??

He's 33 years old & we'd be making a bomb on a player who this season hasn't looked that up for it. As for the right side I'd think we're going to strengthen.

Shut up you tart.

i think people are over estimating the amount of money we'll have to spend personally. besides money dosen't win you anything, it helps but it dosen't guarentee trophies.

if the 20 richest people in the world all bought a premier league team only 1 could win the title and 3 would still get relegated.

we are heading in the right direction already and with maybe a couple of improvements each year the title will be ours. i'm sure of it.

Some people are playing fantasy football here.

I don't like Lucas Neill, but if it means getting some cover for Finnan and across the back then £1M isn't too bad.

It's much harder getting quality in January anyway.

I'm happy to wait til Summer to get some quality.

Why does everyone pick on Finnan??

When was he last injured??

The mans a legend a true pro and has the guts, balls and work ethic that needs to be shone onto any new signing that is lucky enough to wear the Red shirt!

To me Finnan opitomises everything LFC,past and present!

No Frills hard work..Result!!

Deserves more respect than shallow people can offer!!

I wasn't "picking" on Finnan - we need cover that's all.

If he gets injured we're struggling.

Dont think anyone has ripped Finnan mate. Everyone knows how important Finnan is to the team and how much he contributes.

What people have been saying is that we have no cover for him over than youth (peltier) if he gets injured/suspended. We cant go the rest of the season assuming/hoping that he wont get injured.

we did a bit of changing... credit to rafa...
quality of players we brought in (bellamy, Pennant, Gonzales...etc) .. not good enough... id be willing to give all the signing enough time to gel in and play their best...but imo... THIS season is the time wen u do all ur picking and sorting out... we are already out of the title race...things not looking so good in the champions league... etc
for next season...with the new financial situation...we have an opportunity that i think we should go for... sign players we obviously need (though sometimes refuse to admit) !
at left back... riise...i mean...i like the guy... one of my fav. players int he world... but... come on... if we have the chance of signing a player like lahm... i say we go for it..
Ribery instead of M.Gonzales or Aurelio.... i mean... sure we can give Gonzales and Aurelio the next 2 years to adapt to the english league and all... but... ribery will probably be in some other big club by then....and if that club is manutd or chelsea ...there you have it... gap is only getting bigger...
Chelsea are signing players.... Manutd are making some quality signings (carrick) , we too have made good signings (bellamy, pennant)  but in comparison...what we do is more like baby steps..
time to bridge the gap... only way i see that happening is by us signing better players !

What a poor excuse for a post this is.

Bellamy now his court case is out of the way is showing exactly what he is capable of, and has been our best player the last couple of games.
Gonzalez has had unfortunate injuries and while the jury is still out he has already scored 3 times, i think Kewell scored about 4-5 in the whole of last season.
Pennant has been poor and seems to lack passion and desire but lets just hope he starts showing what he is capable of soon, like Bellamy has.
And btw Ribery is predominately a right winger, so if he was signed i very much doubt it would be to replace Gonzalez or Auellio.

Carrick is not a good signing at all. He has nothing to his game, his tackling is OK, passing OK, shooting OK, he doesnt dicatate the pace of a game like Xabi does for us, and doesnt have one outstanding quality.
A vastly over rated player imo.

I agree with the posters that say give the current players time, if it wasnt for over rotation at the start of the season and the worst set of fixtures in recent memory we wouldnt be so far off the pace at this stage.
