I understand exactly where ace is coming from in some respects. Maybe, next season we may need cover for Carragher and Agger due to my sneeking suspicion that Hyypia may have gone somewhere else and that Paletta won't quite be ready to step up to the plate in Premiership terms. Your guess is as good as mine who could possibly come in there.

As for central midfield, I would like to see some better cover for xabi/momo/gerrard. Right wing? We only have one recognised winger in Jermaine Pennant and i know what two names are on most ppl's lips in regard to that position.

What do you lot think could possibly be improved come next season?

There is a lot that can be improved on...but time is not against us!
If i was 99 and in ill health id say...buy everyone ..buy the best we can afford!Even if that was the case it still would not be a cast iron guarentee of success !!

There is no formula to getting to the top,its something special that gets you there...Passion,strength and a will to win are the foundation.

Turning a football team into a cattle market because thats the'done thing' at season end is not the way to go!

We need to work with what we have for the rest of the season ...and the next!

Forget about Chelsea and Scum...people quiver when they  hear Chelsea have signed Shevchenko...Or Scum sign Rooney...let them do what they want to do...they are not and never will be LFC..F.UCK THEM!

We need to simply be us for a while and stick with our own ideas..Then in a bit we can seperate the players who deserve a chance and the ones who dont!

Does anyone on here expect a player really to adapt and play to full potential from the word go?In one season...WE can shoot down a player in 1 game on here!! I've done it..probably still will!!

We have a great squad..we are lucky. We need stability not to act like Tesco vs Ebay in the shopping window...

Let the Billionaire keep his dollars for a while....Let them buy over thats OK.But the manager should send him a message saying..'We are not really in need of much but thanks..Let us see what we have, what we would like to keep? Then maybe in a season or 2 we will assess what you can offer us and what we need!'

if u dont change... you lag behind

we did a bit of changing... credit to rafa...
quality of players we brought in (bellamy, Pennant, Gonzales...etc) .. not good enough... id be willing to give all the signing enough time to gel in and play their best...but imo... THIS season is the time wen u do all ur picking and sorting out... we are already out of the title race...things not looking so good in the champions league... etc
for next season...with the new financial situation...we have an opportunity that i think we should go for... sign players we obviously need (though sometimes refuse to admit) !
at left back... riise...i mean...i like the guy... one of my fav. players int he world... but... come on... if we have the chance of signing a player like lahm... i say we go for it..
Ribery instead of M.Gonzales or Aurelio.... i mean... sure we can give Gonzales and Aurelio the next 2 years to adapt to the english league and all... but... ribery will probably be in some other big club by then....and if that club is manutd or chelsea ...there you have it... gap is only getting bigger...
Chelsea are signing players.... Manutd are making some quality signings (carrick) , we too have made good signings (bellamy, pennant)  but in comparison...what we do is more like baby steps..
time to bridge the gap... only way i see that happening is by us signing better players !

Disagree about Carrick. If i thought we had the chance of signing him I wouldn't be
over the moon. His valuation is well O.T.T. However I do agree with you concerning wingers. Joaquin AND Simao anyone? Them two players could switch flanks with ease and are so flexible in terms of whre they play on the pitch.

Finnan              Carragher               Agger                    Riise

Joaquin                        Alonso                                Simao

                                     Gerrard

                         Kuyt                    Crouch

Same old balls!! Back to the start and lets gel for a while and loose it AGAIN!

Am i one dimentional or am i the only one that can see that we are going the right way?We have as we are a good enough squad..lacking consistancy thats all!

Address the consistancy problem over 3 seasons and we can win the league..Why are we inconsistant....To many in and out!

SIMPLE!

I think BarryBelfast is quite right. Having lots of hot money  in a sudden is dangerous, you can ask Maradona about that.

I think that as a team we've been  getting stronger all this 3 years. Most of the players are used to the team and to a way of playing. If you want to replace a piece in a working machine, it must be a really good replacement, a safe buy. And I don't think we have many positions that need strenghthening to be honest.

We have very good strikers, if any, it must be a world class one as in Villa, which it's going to be difficult.

In the right wing we have a pure winger, and like all the wingers he is very questioned (Pennant kind of players always have doubters). If any I'd bring a right midfielder, not a pure winger. In the middle of the park we have seen that injuries can be dangerous and might make you play with Carraguer in the defensive midfielder. Although I'm not one of his slashers, Zenden is the man that can be replaced easily. I think we have gap in the squad since we lost Hamman and Zenden although complete doesn't give to the team what Hamman did. Last year when Alonso was unavailable Hamman was a secure replacement. I'd buy a good defensive midfielder. I don't like Sissoko as the last man in the middle, I preffer him with a midfielder watching his back.

In the defence we don't need anything. I trust on what we have in the left back, and besides there's a lack of good players in that position in Europe, it would be very hard to bring better players without insulting amounts of money.

In the right back I think we might need a replacement for Finnan.

So spend money in things we need but do not waste it. Otherwise we might enter a momentum of buying lots of players and getting tired of them soon as they don't improve much the working machine. Just a few patches to prevent injuries and that's all. And a striker if he's world class.

we have a problem with our wingers... mark gonzales, aurelio, kewell(injuries) , Pennant, L.Garcia even S.Gerrard...
all are either average wingers or have been played out of position because of the simple fact of us lacking quality in that position...
compare Pennant to C.Ronaldo or Hleb or J.Cole...
M.Gonzales to Giggs or Robben or V.Persie

we need to improve the quality of our players.... simple as that !

ace is right, maybe not completely, but still going in the right direction. i would love nothing more than to give these players time to develope and see where that takes us, but if we font sign new players...we will fall behind the mancs and chelski! even arsenal! although i dont think we need to go out and buy a whole new squad. we need a WORLD CLASS striker, as well as WORLD CLASS wingers...simple as that! and the obvious cover for finnan and CM and maybe a CD

                       Reina
Finnan    Carra         Agger   Riise

               Sissoko
A. Lennon          Alonso    Van der Vaart
                  Gerrard

               Trezeguet

or

                 Reina

Finnan    Carra    Agger  Riise

Lennon   Gerrard  Alonso  Van der Vaart

            Bellamy  Toni

also part of the new players in the squad

Kompany
Sissoko(might hav2play) (not new obviously)
Gago (one for the future
Quaresma
Neill
Simao
Hargreaves (will also f*ck the mancs off)
Nuri Sahin (also great player for the future)
Villa - will be too expensive, we're dreaming

with a squad like this, we will be able to challenge for the title...only after we get a squad like this can we leave our team and give them the time they desparately need to gel. even if we have to forget about the title for 1 or 2 years, it'll do us wonders!!!

So Pennant is shot down in your mind as useless?

Given the fact he has not been allowed a clear run of games to find form..Do you think it wise to sell him come season end..then give another player a few matches!!

Players mature with games..it just takers longer at LFC at present as our GREAT manager has a rotational policy in place...its a marathon not a sprint(Cliche)

true...pennant needs to be given a proper run to see his true worth, but can any1 honestly say that pennent may even possibly turn out world class and is worth his place is a title winning side...
no! if we're gonna win the title we need players with extreme potential and ability!

could pennant even see the bench at chelski...   not good enough to win - simple as that!
