Djimi traore has issued a warning to manager rafa

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Unsettled defender Djimi Traore has issued a warning to manager Rafa Benitez that he is only happy staying at Liverpool on the proviso he secures first-team football.

The French stopper is currently down the pecking order at Anfield, but was given an extended run out against Bolton at the weekend due to an injury to Sami Hyypia.

The 24-year-old was tipped to join fellow Merseysiders Everton before the transfer deadline, however Benitez now wants the defender to remain with The Reds.

However, Traore could still be weighing up his options and may opt to play his football away from Liverpool rather than warming the bench for the club.

"The manager has told me he wants me to stay, but I want to be playing first-team football," explained Traore.

"That is an important issue for me."

I heard he had warned him to cancel the scouting mission planned for Baghdad next week. Apparently its a bit dodge over there.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Traore is not doing himself any favours making comments like this if they are proved to be true ......

Baros has lost respect for going public over the summer about GH and I was disappointed with him for doing that. It's not professional and perhapsa  little naive to talk about your "dream" club (Barcelona) possibly makinga bid for you....

Trare did OK on Sunday after filling in for Hyppia. The best place to do your "talking" is on the pitch

Heart attack for you, Shanti, if Traore plays first team football week-in, week-out?

I think even Shanks would be turning in his grave at that thought!
