Everton have confirmed they have agreed a deal for Liverpool defender Djimi Traore.
The French defender is travelling to Goodison Park on Friday to discuss terms and undergo a medical
Everton have agreed a £1.5 million deal for the versatile defender and, as revealed exclusively by skysports.com last week, Traore is set to seal a move across Stanley Park before the close of the transfer window.
Toffees boss David Moyes is keen to bolster his defence and with funds available he has moved to lure Traore from local rivals Liverpool.
Moyes hopes to tie up a deal for Traore in the next 24 hours.
"We've agreed a fee with Liverpool of £1.5 million to bring Djimi Traore to the club," Moyes told the club's official website.
"At the moment we're just waiting for clearance that everything's done and hopefully he'll have a medical later."
Traore has expressed his desire to move to Everton as he is determined to be playing regularly and the player's agent Monte-Carlo based Willie McKay revealed a deal was close to being sealed.
"A deal has been agreed between both clubs," McKay told skysports.com.
"Djimi is going to meet Everton officials today to hold talks.
"All that needs to be done is for personal terms to be agreed and a medical.
"Djimi is excited at the prospect of joining Everton at playing in his preferred position of centre back and staying in Liverpool where he is settled is a big bonus."
