Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Bad Bob » Mon Dec 29, 2008 2:48 pm

Right, it's all getting a bit ridiculous at the moment in the various football threads.  Too many personal attacks and not nearly enough proper football discussion.  Disagreements are the lifeblood of a forum like this but they should be channeled into discussions about football and not into name-calling and abuse.  If you think someone's chatting rubbish, explain why instead of just posting smileys or calling him/her names.  If you can't do that, you've got three choices:

1) Ignore that poster
2) Spend your time having a laugh in General Chat
3) Find a new forum

Your cooperation is appreciated.  :)

It's been of the trend lately that people are more interested in proving their opinions right and that the other opinion is absolutely bollox no matter how sensible or relevant and do not want to consider it at all. No one is willing to back down or admit that one is wrong when indeed one is proven wrong. It has descended into the battle of egos I'm afraid and both sides of the fence has taken things into extremes and made themselves extremists... don't know if I made any sense there...  :D

i do find it amazing that at a time where we are finally challenging for the title and according to our own captain 'the best squad he has seen at the club ' that people can still slag of the manager and the players . Whatever rafas methods are and for whatever reason they are working and thats without the best striker in the world and after stuffing newcastle at their own place , the same newcastle the mancs nor chelsea could not beat  . Players are stepping up when required , we are grinding out results when required , yes we are dropping silly points but teams below us are doing worse . We all wanted to challenge and we are doing that so what is the problem ? For years and years liverpool fans backed the players , backed the manager but that seems to have changed over the years . Im lucky enough to know the fagan family very well and in their words their dad and grandad ie joe would think rafa is the perfect man for the job . Do people expect too much ? Do people think too much about rotation etc ? In my eyes yes on both accounts , we should all be loving the occasion at the moment and putting all our efforts into supporting our club players and manager , thats what has made us the great club it is . Believe we can win , dont sit there expecting the manager to mess things up just so he can prove he is the boss . Rafa does want he thinks is best for the club and will continue to do so to the best of his and his players abilities and at the moment that has us sitting at the top of the table with our best chance in years of claiming the title . Youll never walk alone is our motto and it is for a reason . YNWA

Completely missing the point of the thread as usual. :no

The point is, so what, if some of us don't blindly follow Rafa's stupidity. We're entitled to voice what we would do in the situation or what we think or in some cases know what is best for the club and certain players. This thread has nothing to do with whether you think Rafa's right or wrong.

Alot of the "abuse" I dish out from a personal point is when people start with me OR they come back with pathetic arguements, you know the sort, the childish ones, well why aren't you a manager, well it obviously worked so he was right, well nothing else matters because i want to bum :censored: Rafa or quite simply when people go round in circles on points you've already clearly covered and completely fail to grasp the issue.

The other thing that grates me is nerve dropping and a lack of intelligence.

All of which traits you show in more or less every post you make.

I come here to talk football. Some people don't like being told they don't have a clue, the ones that don't will be told. Simple as that.

stu,

bob has just said in his thread opener to ignore the poster etc, and you start with a personal attack on GYBS, which is what bob didnt want.  f'ucking hell man.
whenever gybs posts anything, you start going off on one.

look im not going to drag this into an argument that you want . Just a little bit of advice , stop telling people they are clueless etc cause its disrespectful to them and their opinions just like you have resorted to insults on this thread again . You want to talk football , great then just stick to football , less of the insults and actually understand that other people may have a different view to you and that doesnt make them clueless or less intelligent , just means they have a different view on the matter and they are entitled to that point just like i was entitled to my post which i did without insulting anyone or trying to cause any sort of fight . I have no idea how old you are or anything but stop resorting to childish insults to try and make you look big . Some of your points are very good about football and some dont agree with you , that doesnt make them wrong and it doesnt make you right and vice versa . Its all about opinions .
