They are on a par? But its well known and accepted that Cisse wasn't good enough for us  :D

In terms of goals they are on a par - as for cisse i would compare him with babel - great ability and pace and power but lack of football awareness - good enough for us ? as a starter week in week out ? not for me . as a back up - yes as he does score goals , but i dont think i would want him in the squad due to lack of work ethic and his attitude .

work ethic... hard work... gives 200%.. etc etc... means fck all if you dont have the skills... im not talking about Kuyt im just talking in general... some of the best players in the world today, playing for some clubs that win big things, dont have the work ethic and dont work hard according to many....

hard work is overrated, just ask Daws  :glare:

yes those best players in the world have something to make up for their lack of work ethic - ie they are the best players in the world - cisse wasnt and never will be . If cisse had the ability of the best  players in the world then i couldnt give a feck about his work ethic but he isnt so he had to work his backside of for the team like pretty much all the other player which is exactly what rafa wants - cisse spent most of his energy drifting offside , sulking or smacking his missus

Among those 3 I like Kuyt the most because he plays his heart out for LFC he was asked to play on the right and he plays non-stop there and deserved his success last season. Cisse and Crouch had fustrated me more than Kuyt. In the beginning I don't see why alot of people were criticising Kuyt so much... but throughout the years I have started to realise that he does have a less than average touch and fustrates me sometimes during the games... but he more than makes up this disadvantage with the way he plays all out for LFC. The guy really gives 110%, down to earth, humble and no complaints. And I don't accept that he's a hopeless striker... in the box when given the time and service he has the ability to hit the target and he does have a decent header... maybe it's the way we play that doesn't suit him. The way we play, Gerrard and Torres are constantly moving with quick one two passes. Kuyt doesn't have this in him because of his touch and because of his slow reaction so to say... But I believe if he played in a team like the mancs where the midfield does all the work, he would score more goals...

midfielders do all the work for the Mancs ? and Kuyt would be a success there ?

this has got to be the quote of the century mate...

Kuyt is not and never will be as important a player as Gerrard or Torres and anyone that thinks that is in my opinion clueless about football. That does not mean Kuyt is not an important player, it does not mean I want to sell him, it does not mean I think he is cr@p, sh!t or a waste of a shirt. It just means that he is not and never will be as important a player as Torres or Gerrard.

THE END

and i will end by saying i support liverpool, not torres-gerrard FC

And i will repost my point - last season (which is a little bit that  keeps getting missed out ) kuyt was as important to our success as both gerrard and torres .

I wont resort to insults just because people dont agree with that - ill leave that up to others .

that is so wrong... whether you have skills or not you need hard work to help you to get somewhere... there are so many talented young players out there. To make it into the professional leagues you need discipline and hard work as simple as that... did you think Gerrard didn't work hard? did you think Torres didn't work hard? Did you think Carragher didn't work hard? hard work gets you somewhere. Skills without hard work doesn't get you nowhere...

The difference for me is that when moves break down because of Torres and Gerrard its because they are trying to create something , half the time moves break down through Kuyt its because he has NOT tried to create something, but just passed it backwards.

but he still manages to create and score and is only just behind those two in terms of goals and assists - so that must be a hell of a lot of backwards passes that result in goals and chances - how the hell does he manage to do that when he gives the ball away so much and passes it backwards -

it will always be the same with kuyt - no matter what he does some people will still bring up the same stuff - no matter how many chances he creates or goals he scores or assists he makes there will always be something neagtive to be said about him from the same people - if last season didnt prove the doubters wrong then nothing will and i think even if he did score 20 plus goals and made assists 20 plus  and scored winners left right and centre the same people will still say yeah well done on that BUT what about that miscontrol during the 7th minute . Every bit of praise he gets from the people that will never rate him always has a twist of negativity about him .

People will laud Xabis performances last season and gerrards and torres and pepe well kuyt was just as important as those - im sure there is an article somewhere which outlines just exactly how important a lot of his goals where  last season- winners equalisers etc .

And here is the initail quote just in case the usual crowd accuse me of twisting things or changing opinions.

With respect mate, i think it's this comment which had some people in stitches.

Wht's worse is you had plenty of opportunity to correct yourself, but you chose to leave it out there. Do you still stand by this statement just out of interest  ???
