nah im jokin but do reckon hes gna be even better than last season an a gud 10-15 goals i reckon ;)

I think there is more chance of Jesus buying the house that is for sale down the end of your street than there is of Kuyt having a better season next time around.

whys that then??

Personally i tihnk kuyt will have another good season his adjusted to the right mid position and i could only see him playing better.. We do lack an attacking flair at times but atleast kuyt does offer us something.

He will make you eat those words.

Maybe you are just making a friendly joke, but it's a negative way of supporting a player of your favourite club. You're basically hoping for him to fail,so you can prove a point.

At least that's the vibe I'm getting.

He's a far better player then some people make him out to be.You don't claim a spot in Holland's first team over players like Sneijder,Van der Vaart,Huntelaar etc without talent.Period.

You are talking to deaf ears bigmick :)

Kuyt personifies everything that makes fans love him.
he makes everyone believe you can succeed even if you have very little football skill but "sacrifice yourself for the team"

He, imo, is a very limited FOOTBALL player but he works very hard and tries his best.
If every player had Rafa's support like Kuyt does there would even be a chance for Babel to have made the rw spot his own.

One thing I really disagree with Rafa on is the fact that I want defenders to do what it says in the name, defend and attacking players to do what it says in the name, attack.

I don't buy into this attacking defenders and attacking players helping out in the defense. Some games that woill turn out like no one really does the attacking on that wing and the defensive duties are forgotten and you get a big mess of nothing.

An attacking player with his starting position high up the field should be able to take on defenders and create things without needing help from the defender every time

When was the last goal Kuyt scored that wasn't on

1) a rebound
2) a tap in where other players did all the creative work

When does he score by himself?

Torres, gerrard, Benayoun, Riera can all make a goal happen and score.
Kuyt can not. He is totally depending on others for him to score.

Saying that, with all the confidence Rafa has pumped into him he will be our starter by merit next season.

I am also saying I'd prefer a real attacking midifieder in that position as I believe he could do better.
But we will never know.

Amazing - truely amazing - even when he scores and creates goals for others some still dont give him credit it for it

How many exactly last season did yossi and reira create or score ? bet if you add up both of them together they still wouldnt be as many as Kuyt

Well let me think, that would be err West Brom away, a full 2 competitive games ago at the end of last season.

So now he's not good enough because his goals are not good or spectacular enough?

I despair I really do.

While I think everyone appreciates the goals assists and hard work of Kuyt, you also have to take into consideration how many moves break down due to his poor first touch, his lack of pace and his habit of passing back when there are good options open further forward.

Last season without a doubt the balance was in Kuyts favour, but its a close call in my opinion, with his work rate and willingness to do whatever he can for the team usually outweighing the negatives.

touche saint  :D

but seriously look how many times gerrard tries an impossible ball or a threw ball and it doesnt come off or torres fails to control it or over run it - prob as much as kuyt looses the ball .

I don't think anyone would be complaining about Kuyt either if he was knocking in 20 to 25 goals a season either mate.

The difference for me is that when moves break down because of Torres and Gerrard its because they are trying to create something , half the time moves break down through Kuyt its because he has NOT tried to create something, but just passed it backwards.

but he still manages to create and score and is only just behind those two in terms of goals and assists - so that must be a hell of a lot of backwards passes that result in goals and chances - how the hell does he manage to do that when he gives the ball away so much and passes it backwards -

it will always be the same with kuyt - no matter what he does some people will still bring up the same stuff - no matter how many chances he creates or goals he scores or assists he makes there will always be something neagtive to be said about him from the same people - if last season didnt prove the doubters wrong then nothing will and i think even if he did score 20 plus goals and made assists 20 plus  and scored winners left right and centre the same people will still say yeah well done on that BUT what about that miscontrol during the 7th minute . Every bit of praise he gets from the people that will never rate him always has a twist of negativity about him .

People will laud Xabis performances last season and gerrards and torres and pepe well kuyt was just as important as those - im sure there is an article somewhere which outlines just exactly how important a lot of his goals where  last season- winners equalisers etc .

As I said he had a good season last year, the year before he had a terrible season, scored only 3 goals and made 4 assists. For me its a close call with Kuyt. Last season the good outweighed the bad, the season before the bad outweighed the good. To even try to compare him to Gerrard or Torres is laughable imo.

I don't slag Kuyt off, but I will say it as I see it.
