Thats why im hoping for not many wholesale changes this year - loose players like voronin and pennant who are out on loan then maybe one more squad player - ie yossi or maybe even babel will go and keep the rest and just add a couple of decent signings - Player like Silva (big signing) a back up striker around 10 mil ish and then a right back around 10 mil as well .

Get rid of Benayoun...never rated him....two good performances this season, that's all, when the team has been crying out for players on the pitch - EVERY WEEK ! - to stand up and be counted.
Yossi ain't the only one I'd get rid of though.....Dossena, Degen, the porn star (Voronin)  - did he REALLY think his anti-LFC comments in Berlin would go unnoticed ?), Pennant, and if Agger is actin' the goat over a new contract, then off with his head ! (or sell him for a few bob, even better :;):  )

We should break the bank to sign Silva. He would be excellent. Silva on the left with Kuyt on the right would be dreamy.

£10m for a RB? Why? Arbeloa can be a bit powder puff sometimes defensively, but do we need a £10m RB to compete with/replace him? I never mind a manager looking for Bosmans, just happens that our manager gets his from Tesco rather than M&S

Anyone else on here watching Wolves (not play, monitoring) this season? I reckon we could do worse than look at one or two of their players. Could do a bit of reciprocity and offer them a few players to sell or loan, they've one or two players might be useful squad members.
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Why do we need to sell ? Manure have such a big squad average players like fletcher , o shea , surely we can keep kuyt and yossi . In times of injuries and suspensions , they can do the job and will come in handy , we're not a selling club .

As for the haters , like it or not , its better to accept that kuyt will be here next season and probably after that

The right back, Foley, reminds me of Finnan a bit

David Moyes is excellent at picking up bargins , he got tim cahill from millwall and joleon lescott from wolves , both who have matured and grown into good players . I think we should look to lower league for players if we are strapped for cash .

Who said we are strapped for cash? Rafa will get money to spend in the summer plus whatever he generates from player sales and CL run.

I'm just saying , if we are strapped , lower leagues could be the option to provide cover for some positions

Dunno mate that is a bit risky. That's why managers look abroad, becasue the talent is cheaper there.

I'm just not sure the quality's there these days mate.  The gulf between the premiership and championship is getting bigger all the time.  Gone are the days where you could pluck any number of players from the lower leagues who'd do a job in the top flight.

There are a few players there I like though.  I think the lad Commons who plays on the left for Derby is a good little player.  Doyle and Stephen Hunt at Reading are easily Premiership class.  A lot of the Wolves players are getting rave reviews, but I'll be honest and say I've hardly seen them play this season.

Kevin Doyle is probably the only championship player I've watched that I'd have in our squad, and even then he wouldn't be first choice material.  He'd always get goals against mid-lower Premiership teams though.  His downfall is that he contributes very little outside the box - top finisher but that will always hold him back from being a top player.

You do have a point john , and it will be interesting to see who gets relegated this season , i'm hoping its boro , as we could pick up a couple of their players , johnson , downing and tuncay who would surely be pushing for a place in the squad , plus they will not be that expensive bar downing

I'd definitely have some interest in Stewart Downing - he signed a new contract with Middlesborough a year ago but I reckon we might get him for around £10 million.
