Anyone questioning Dirk needs their head read. He has been nothing short of top class for us for a number of years and long may that continue. I think the fact that when fit he is an automatic pick suggests that our management believe this too!
Some forget that he arrived at Anfield as an out and out striker and has been remoulded into a winger.
I agree 100% with your first 2 sentences. The 3rd, 4th and 6th however are just absurd.
I wouldn't put it to you that anyone who thinks we'll ever win a trophy with kuyt as a key player needs their "head read". Even though there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. I genuinely hope he proves me wrong as on a personal and professional level it's obvious he is a top top individual. However, he doesn't have the brain or technical ability to drive us to future successes.
His recent good form - if analysed in isolation - has been down to penalties, fluke goals and unmissable tap-ins. Long may it continue but the reality is that form is temporary, a lack of footballing ability is permanent - especially when you're in your 30s.
And please stop saying rafa, roy and the king keep picking him... All 3 managers have their flaws. 2 were sacked playing kuyt every week and all 3 picked/pick ngog over pacheco. Most telling of all, none of them won anything for "believing" in dirk kuyt's unquestionable virtues.
