Houllier did sign some excellent players aswell though LFC1982, Hamman, McAllister, Finnan, Hyypia, Henchoz to name but a few.

As for the Diouf comments......he went downhill the moment I put the mockers on.....Has done well for Bolton ,though!

Come on lad I was just messing, Houllier did great at us and it was a shame he never managed to bring home the title, He did make some class signings like the one's you named, Babbel, prob one of the best bosmans going.

But his down fall was getting rid of Fowler and bringing in Diouf who flopped big style.

Houllier's downfall was not because of the signing of Diouf to replace Fowler; it was for a multitude of things, not only his transfer activity post treble season but his negative style of play to name 2 ...for further comments on the Houllier years do a search for old threads...
