stmichael, Diouf is young, that much I can agree.

He has been a massive flop, anytime we sell him, we will make a loss. The only thing is how much wages he is on. The longer we keep him, his opportunity cost to us, after including his wages, may be greater than whatever increment we can get from him. I doubt he can be much better if he does not improve his attitude.

He was way overpriced in the first place. In fact, too many of Houllier's purchases are way too expensive. Biscan 5.5 million, Cheyrou 4 million, Diao 5 million... Did I mention Heskey?

that is what separates good managers (houllier) from great managers (wenger). houllier paid £5.5m for biscan where as wenger paid £500,000 for kolo toure. they have also brought van persie in, one of the brightest youngsters in holland, for peanuts. :(

Yeah Diouf's attitude was a problem and has been even in the African Nations Cup and that is spoiling his game. But how much is Houllier to blame? Too much because Diouf is not the first player he has used in the wrong position, Kewell was one victim as well. I believe if he gets a run under the new boss he will impress no doubt about that.

He was getting into good from until he went to the african nations then when he was late coming back from it say loan him out to another prem team see how he goes if not get rid. still think anelka was always the better option.

I agree that Diouf is played out of possition but he plays there for Senegal so he can't complain, sometimes his feet look quick but he can't beat a man, personally I would keep Smicer over Diouf cos at least Smicer has a decent attitude and plays for the team not himself!

Well, I don't know why but I have a hitch that Diouf would become great after he leaves LFC. I just don't think he gets alone with the rest of the team. Anyway, his stats in Winning Eleven is great.:D

Well good luck to him and whoever willing to take him. Can't worry about that too much, he just isn't performing for the team and his attitude sucks. He is sometime faster than the ball he's dribbling, inconsistent crosses. Under performed, big dissapointment. Please close the door on your way out...!

Just off the bbc website.

With less than one month to the start of the new English Premiership season, Senegal's El Hadji Diouf has yet to be assigned a squad number at Liverpool.

The former African Player of the Year wore the number nine jersey last season but it has now been allocated to new signing Djibril Cisse.

The 22-year-old Frenchman joined Liverpool from Auxerre for a fee believed to be about US $26m.

Liverpool's official website reveals Diouf to be at the bottom of the squad list.

He is the only player at the club that has not been assigned a shirt number.

Bye bye bye bye.....

So now it seems that Diouf's future at Liverpool is doubtful.

Only problem is now that he is surplus to requirements, being the flop that he is with an attitude to boot, who will want to buy/loan him and make a good enough offer for him to agree personal terms? Surely his wages will be some sort of a hindrance like Smicer's collapsed proposed move to the Saints.

I think Beni wants to good team spirit and Diouf does not have a good attitude, thats probably why he doesn't feature in his plans, maybe thats why Babbel is goin too ???

3. no end product to his possession

4.CAnt shoot

5. CAnt score

6. Dives a bit

7. Not a team player
