Diouf - No chance

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Agreed...he's had ample oppurtunity to prove himself..after the spitting incident he could have come back stronger and worked harder to prove himself but he never did. I liked the signing of him by GH at the time but like so many he hasn't lived up to the hype..and as for Biscan, he hasn't done it either but he is versatile and until we get more centre back and central midfield cover we can't afford to let him go I think
L - I - V.....E - R - P.......Double O - L....Liverpool F C!!!!!

In Igor's case thats how i see him. I have defended him recently because i think maybe he could still it make a squad player as cover. I guess im letting my heart rule my head because he has received plenty of stick(me included) and i was hoping he might come good?? Diouf has had to live up to be a 10 million man and has failed. Diouf always pi**ed me off the way he would try beating loads of people, loosing the ball countless times and try silly shots from 30 yards out! I have taken into account that he didnt ask for this price tag but still there has been no end product from a man who we signed in favour of Anelka

According to the BBC website, Diouf has been left behind in the Liverpool tour to USA.

No squad number, left out of the pre-season tour and has spoken to Benithez about his future. Two others have done so - Babbel who has been signed by Sttutgart and Vignal who is on loan in Spain. I believe he knows where he stands, just that no club has come forward to make a bid for him. Must be due to his wages.

this is true, his future is on the line at the moment and it dont look to bright if he's been left out of the squad to go the U.S.A as they whole first team squad has gone

Gh only bought him because he paniced before the world cup and thought that he would lose out after but we all got excited about him signing due to his rep and performances in the tornament. However Gh should have known better than that and the spitting incident was probably the point at which most people lost respect for him and thus their faith in giving him another chance. I for one did not back him after that.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Beni is getting rid of the likes of Diouf and Babbel who didn't have the best attitudes in the world, he wants a team with spirit and doesn't have trouble makers in the camp.

Diouf is one of the worst LFC players ive ever seen in my life. Apret from the fact he runs with his head down and doesnt look to paas, he cant shoot score, tackle or much else!

Im better than him too

I only say :he is very excellent in fifa world cup 2002, but he doesn't adapt to england, it is also the reason that he is not the giant star ,so i think he should leave the team and move another team most fitted for him.

REDKNAPP WANTS DIOUF DEAL
Monday 26th July 2004, SKYSPORT

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed that he is interested in signing Liverpool outcast El Hadji Diouf. Redknapp is keen to bolster his squad for the new season and has made enquiries about taking Diouf on a season-long loan from Liverpool. The Senegal international appears to have no future at Liverpool, as he has not been allocated a squad number and has been left behind in England while the rest of the team tour the United States. Redknapp admitted he is not having much luck on the transfer front, as he tries to bring Diouf to Fratton Park.
"I'm not making any progress in the transfer market," said Redknapp.
"We are waiting to see if there's a way to get El Hadji Diouf from Liverpool and I'm looking for a couple of loans."
Redknapp fears his current squad could struggle to avoid relegation next season, if he does not manage to bring in some new faces.
"We need three players. We've lost three midfield players in Alexei Smertin, (Amdy) Faye and Tim Sherwood and we are also short up front.
"Our squad is very thin - paper thin, in fact."

Why the hell in the last two years have most of our unwanted christmas presents all gone out on loan? shorely we need to sell some players as if they are ****** and after a year nobody wants them they will be back to haunt our door steps.

And why pay a percentage of wages to a player who needs to be gone forever.

If beni wants his own squad of players and not le poos he needs to get rid and accure some funds for his own players.

Completely agree with Mistyred here....I was just shouting to myself why the hell is everyone going out on loan? Get rid of them now and save the wage bill. I am sure that Diouf will be equally as adept in running towards the right hand corner flag head down, beating the same defender 5 times before losing it for Harry Rednapps team as he was for us

Thanks for the memories and high blood pressure

I also want to know why Diouf not being assigned a shirt is deemed newsworthy and my being denied is not ;-p
