Did we win?

I have been watching SSN for hours and I havent seen ONE item about us beating Stoke and getting to the semi final.
I have seen plenty of stuff about the lad having a heart attack, doctors, surgeons, managers, players, etc etc all giving expert opinion. I have seen purple nose going on about goal difference, but I havent seen anything about LFC making it to wembley. Again.
Why is this?

I thought that yesterday evening, they had a headline section to the right and there were 8 headlines and we didn't make it onto any of them.
It was like the game never took place.
They even had the Aussies cricket score up!

Well, Muamba deserves to take the headlines at the moment, no argueing there but you'd of thought we'd of made one of the 8 lines of headlines. oh hang on, we're a team of racists that the media just HATE when we're doing well. If it'd of been man utd getting through it'd been on there but they don't want to be seen giving the dirty racist scummers of Liverpool FC the news space, unless we've upset someone or we give them a reason to drag us through some dirt again.

fuk them all. media = scum of the world.

hope they burn

simply because the FA Cup is not on Sky, therefore it doesn't exist.....Sky is the beginning of time and the only news is Sky news...ask Murdoch

to get a bit conspiritorial for a moment i dont think it suits sky`s agenda to discuss the f.a cup.
the premier league (backed by sky) and the f.a have been at loggerheads for years about who runs the game in this country and some say the premier league goes out of its way to de value the f.a`s flagship domestic competition, for example scheduling games after the final so its not the last game of the season anymore etc. itv and espn broadcast the f.a cup hence sky hardly mention it, and if they do mention it you can be sure the word `devalued` will crop up somewhere in the conversation.

is right.

you only have to look at formula 1 now it's on sky. it's all over sky sports. when it was just on the beeb it was like the sport didn't even exist.

They haven't reported on the FA Cup all season.

1. Is anyone surprised

2. Does anyone really care

It's hardly a surprise though. The decision to not promote sports you do not show is a valid business decision. If it was the BBC that did that it would be different as they are a publicly funded organisation who are directed to meet public interests. Sky are not however.

Sky have withdrawn exposure to these sports unless they have a slice of the viewing rights. With Formula 1 you could say that the decision to withdraw focus on the sport has been justified. They have pursued viewing rights for many seasons whilst restricting the visibility of it on their channels until such a time they would benefit.

I have no qualms about that behaviour, it is a fundamental business strategy when you are in a competing market. If they comment on the FA Cup they subsequently advertise it and inevitably generate viewer interest that they won't benefit from.

Its one thing not to cover it, but not to mention one of the biggest cups in the world is beyond pathetic.
Small minded and spiteful behaviour from murdoch and his gang of hypocritical w@nkers

Like I said, it's commonplace behaviour.

I remember Setanta doing the exact same thing.

So sky sports news literally means the news of the sport that is on sky?

Yep. Pretty much.

I think the Olympics was the exception.

Feel sorry for the lad like but if I have to hear about Muamba one more time I will kick the set in.

This public show of emotion gets on my tits and all way over the top like no to mention being absolute *****.

Most amusing was the amount of times ITV sent our their best wishes during yesterdays coverage. Even the fecking live draw
from Wembley they got another one in just incase we missed their previous 10 announcements on the suject, from every pundit,
every presenter, Bobby Gould, John Scales not to mention an update on his condition after every ad break of which there where
several like.

Get well soon lad (even Im doing it now!), but FFS will people just stop with all this ***** , rant over, and on thread, yes weve had feck all coverage  :p
