Slating Alonso?

:no

It's his first Premiership start for months FFS, he's hardly going to be at the top of his game

Slating him? I am just telling it like it is.
If he can't be on top of his game then he better prepare to take some stick. This is no reason, it is just an excuse..

So what you're actually saying is that Alonso should be at the top of his game despite the fact it's his first Premiership game after a long injury layoff??

You clearly know nothing about football and you certainly must never have played the game yourself.

No.. If you read properly it says if he doesn't play on top of his game he must be willing to take the stick. Whether he is injured before is inmaterial. Sisoko hurt is eyes so now we are expecting him to play with limited capabilities because he has injured before? Do we still continue to have such expectation next season.

In a nut shell, getting back from injury does not give you an excuse for bad performance. You may not be at the top of your game but that is no excuse for bad performance. Know the difference.

Ive never heard so much :censored: spouted in me life lad. This was the perfect game for Alonso to get Match fitness under his belt . As John Craig said have you ever played the game yourself :no

So what if it is a perfect game for him to get match fitness. Does it mean he has to play below par? You have absolutely no idea what is going on. You don't even know the difference I am talking about.. goodness me. I too think it is a good game for him to get match fitness. But he has to perform even when he is trying to get match fitness. Does he get a pay cut during this period of recovery? It is a matter of expectation. Get real, without proper expectation you will end up giving excuses for every poor performance. Yes I do play as a striker for 10 years up to University. Every players will get injured some recover faster and immediately performs while some do not, like Kewell who took a long time to even kick a ball.

Shiteous performance today. Rafa's to blame again, yeah he made some darn right puzzling decisions(messing with the midfield and putting Babel where he clearly does not want to and cannot play), but it could've been worse, we could've lost against Derby :D There was our captain doing what he does best, saving everyones ar$es, goodness knows what Liverpool wouldve been like without Gerrard. Torres is coming along very nicely very happy about him. I was a bit sceptical about him coming wether her would adapt but he has the right pace, skill, determination and strength to go far in the PL and shizz up every defender. But it has quite depressed me how teams go to Derby and thrash them yet we go there and struggle yet we bonked them 6-0 earlier in the seaosn. Form, tactics, Boxing Day hangovers whatever I hope this cr@p performance is just a one off

i have no desire to get to an arguement here. i was trying to give anoter viewpoint (in case your manager reads here..)
i'm an israeli who wants liverpool or chelsea to win the title( for obvious  reasons... )but i really thought that liverpools fans are nice...looks like i was  a bit wrong... "how dare i" misspelling one of your players....

I spent most of the game upset, aggravated and fuming at our performance, I really thought we had thrown away our chance. If we hadn't scored there would have been more than a few on here calling for Rafa's head again. We got lucky today, but we can't afford ANY more games as bad as this one if we are to get something out of this season.

Any team other than maybe Sunderland and Derby would have beaten us comfortably on that performance. (Hopefully we may have raised our game though)

Disgraceful performance, great result   :D

I never read anything into boxing day performances - we needed a win, and we got one. No complaints here.

Glad I didn't watch it though. :D
