how much do you think we could get jermain defoe for? he's a young player who just wants to score. i'd like to see him and crouch up front together for england at some stage, just to see how they combine

10 million would be my guess. I would love to see him playing for LFC and think 10mill would be worth paying.. lets have a whip round!

Won't happen until we sell Cisse imo but he's very similar to Pongolle so I dunno what the future holds for him?

Its all over newsnow. There must be 4 or 5 stories from different sources all reporting the same thing. Defoe bid for Liverpool.

Defoe is a talented young player with plenty of skills but would we pay 10m for him?
We sold another talented and highly skilled young player(baros) for 6.5m and i would feel cheated if we spent 10m on defoe as baros is definately a better player than him.

How come we always get 'done' in the transfer market?!

Baros better than defoe get a life he is wasted at spurs, this lad would be a special player for us he has quick feet and would form an excellent partner for crouch, could see morientes going at end of season.

I can take or leave Defoe, I am not convices he is better that wat we have got. I also do not think he fits the managers style. I wouldn't be suprised if any of the speculation between us and him is an attempt to put pressure on Jol to give him more time in the Spurs Side.
