Daniel Agger to sign - £5.8m fee agreed

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Lando_Griffin » Wed Jan 11, 2006 2:46 am

Putting it simply - if we have agreed personal terms then Brondby have f*ck all chance of stopping the transfer, as he can just refuse to move anywhere but LFC.

Oh and BTW. Can someone explain to me why one of the brightest defensive talents in Europe would want to go to Newcastle or Tottenham, rather than the reigning European Champions?

Newcastle - the "suck em and see" capital of the footballing world, and Spurs - the geriatric's playground. The young players at White Heart Lane have learnt a massive amount from the older pro's there.
They now all know what "Sterident" tablets are for, and the "other" use for tea-cosies.

Perhaps Ronaldinho would like a transfer to Preston North End or f*cking MK Dons!?!

Paper's talk out of their fecking ar*es.

But if the player doesn't want to move to Spurs, then it's meaningless.

Yup. I do agree . LFC are better FC than Spurs

In the summer, Lyon made a bid for Baros which was close to 10 million pounds. Now we accepted the bid, BUT Baros did not want to go to Lyon

God only knows why Baros don't to go Lyon, Maybe his wage or he doesnt want to play under GH again.

So we accepted the next highest bid which was Villa

The are other reason why we accepted Villa bid.

1) We need money
2) Baros need to play but doesnt suit with Rafa plan.

We haven't agreed on personal terms, Brondby chairman has said denied that we have.

I'm trying to figure out that myself.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why he didn't want to go there. The primary reason is that while Houllier was in charge, Baros was hardly given a chance to play. Whose to say that the same would be the case at Lyon? Then there's the fact that Le Championat is a sh1t league compared to the Premiership.

The Brondby manager says that Agger is going to leave [why would they buy a CB if he wasn't]. He himself has given hints that he's leaving, the only question where is he going.

Well that's is the primary reason. If not we are 10m richer.

I don't think the question is where is he going. The question that inside Brondby manager mind is who going to bid the highest. Then take it from there.

Actually it would be just 3.5 richer, as we already got 6.5 for him.

You haven't payed attention to the thread. It's not the Brondby manager who is deciding, it's their CHAIRMAN. He can't force Agger to sign for the highest bidder if he doesn't want to go there.

The only thing he can decide is which club he wants the money from. Just like we couldn't force Baros, they can't force him.

European Champions or Tottenham?

There 's no different where the money from ? But there's a different in amount.

If Agger doesn't want to go to Spurs and want to go to Liverpool , that will happen in the 2nd stage of the transaction .

Anyway , hopefully he will sign and play for Liverpool ASAP.

In that case, they have every right to go for the highest bidder .

But if Agger want's to join us, then they can f*ck it and accept our more-than-fair offer for their player.
