Actually, what we REALLY had, was a poor season after a very encouraging three months at the end of last season.

Nothing more.

The majority of last season was plagued with the same boring football and average performances.

the only way Dalglish will be back as manager is if Rafa walks with only a few games left this year, he will sit next to sammy, we have a manger in the frame to take over but it needs to be at the right time.

To come second in the league with our highest ever points total is more than just 3 months worth . Results is what matters at the end of the day and you could just as easily point to dropping points like the 4 all draw to arsenal as another reason we just missed out . We had a drop in results around jan that cost us , the other months we were getting results

We fluffed a stupid amount of draws last year, like the year before and that was because our football, for the most part was boring and predictible and hadn't changed that much from teh previous season. It just so happens that at several stages last year we have huge slices of luck to aid us in the campaign.

It was only in the last leg that Liverpool went out to attack and THOSE results are what matter, because it was indicative of what the team could do against the opposition.

There was nothing that "encouraging", from the point of view of a team moving forward, for the most part with last years football...bar the last run in.

We were conservative, average and predictable. "Results" may go a teams way, even with those drawbacks, but that's not the way forward in the long term.

I suspect that being the case ,it seems a bit strange that when we did go out to attack we started seeing an alarming amount of goals conceded ,there are indeed two schools of thought on this particular point of our season ,I personally would point to our eagerness to launch an all out attack approach instead of a balance between the two ,was systematic to losing the  title and dropping out of Europe at the hands of Chelsea ,and I voiced my reservations at the time ???

yet its a way that both the mancs and chelsea have won the league in recent times - when was the last time a team won the league playin all out attacking football that the fans love ? 2004 maybe with the unbeaten arsenal ? People say we were poor all season last year bar the last 3 months yet we were top going into jan ? and we also dropped points during that three months as well .

Wouldn't make a difference who it is. If a manager came here and didn't win the league in two seasons, he'd get the same sh*te from the same people.

What a load of :censored: lad !

Name me one liverpool manager who hasnte been given a fair crack of the whip by the fans?

Rafa has had 6 years not 6 months, and take a look at the table
we are competing for a europa cup place, and I wouldnte put the mortage on us getting one!

I would rather keep Rafa than have Sammy Lee as manager mate....... without a shadow of a doubt.

I think lakes is alluding to the fact there is a manager in the frame to takover when the time is right and dont think he is talking about sammy or kenny

In other words apart from the lack of money a typical season under Benitez.  :D

Anyway to get the thread back on track, I think that Kenny would do a great job, and if he failed could still walk out with his head held high.

He has a record second to none as manager of Liverpool (ok possibly to Bob  :D  ) and has the experience , knowledge and ability to bring us success once again.
