Rafa tinkering a little out of boredom is one thing.  Playing Babel up front alongside Torres would be like rearanging the furniture in the living room out of boredom.  Playing Aurellio in CM is the equivlant to setting the furniture on fire just to see what happens.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

haha..or gently poking the eye of a dead fish to see what will happen..

I dont see why the sudden discussion of playing Aurelio in CM after his one good performance in that role. We dont win championship based on one good performance, we need consistency.

I agreed that Aurelio will never has the physical presence of a CM.

What bothers me is that Rafa waits until the 70th minute (again) to change things round
If its not working after 45 then do something at half time

Rafa Benitez was as angry as he has ever been with Liverpool during their defeat by Fioretina, Fabio Aurelio has revealed.

The Brazilian full-back has admitted that the normally cool Spaniard blew his top at half-time in Tuscany during their UEFA Champions League clash.

Liverpool were 2-0 down at the Artemio Franchi, and Benitez made his feelings clear to his charges, although despite a second half improvement the scoreline stayed the same.

"That was the most annoyed we have seen the manager, but we all were," admitted Aurelio.

"We all felt like that after the first half and that's why you saw a better performance in the second.

"But we didn't need harsh words at half-time - we all knew that we were not playing well and that we had to be much better.

"In the second we were a different side and if it had been like that from the start it could have been a different result."

Chelsea
Aurelio admits that Liverpool will be looking to shrug off their defeat in Italy as they tackle Chelsea on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.

"In football you always have a chance to put it right and turn things to your favour and ours comes at Chelsea on Sunday," he said.

"It's a good opportunity for us to get over the disappointment of losing to Fiorentina.

"It is a very important game in the Premier League, against a very strong side, and we have to recover from this result straight away and have the confidence we can do a good job again.

"We have to fight really hard to take the points.

"It's important to get something against the top sides. We are scoring more goals at the moment but you must keep improving if you want to win trophies."

Some will try and absolve Rafa of blame when things don't go right, but I couldn't see fergie or whoever is Chelsea manager at the time waiting until more than 2/3 of the game has passed and the game is well on its way to being lost. 2-0 down at half-time I think both clubs would have made at least one change, it's almost a shock if Rafa changes anything before the 60th minute. So the point is it may not have been his fault that the players weren't performing, but the power was in his hands to change formation, tactics, personnel etc etc.

Rafa probably sees half-time as an opportunity to blame the players rather than try and fix things. And after match interviews a chance to blame something other than himself or his tactics. It is true that how well the players play will determine the chances of winning, but doing nothing also determines the chances of changing the way a game is going. Hoping the team improves is perhaps a little over-optimistic, suggests to me perhaps he has way too much faith in his tactics

Or in his mind it could be too much of an admission that he has made a mistake.

I absolutely hate with a passion reading when a player says that the manager tore into them at half time because of an embarrassing performance. Then saying that it really shook them up because they had never seen him so angry. And that made them play better in the second half
Toe-curlingly cringey

Me too I just hate it when players talk at all really breaks the feeling for me I just like to think of them as little sprites that run around the pitch all game being controled by Rafas Mind bullets.

Exactly
Wouldnt they know he'd be seething after the sh'ite they served up in the first half?
Shut their stupid foolish mouths and play the game they get paid handsomely for.
