Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I know that we've been in a strong possition for a while now and that no-one's thought of us not being in the CL next season, but because of Arsenal's draw last night, we are definatly in. No more worrying on that front and it offers a bit of relaxation to our players who can now concentrate on finishing above the mancs in 2nd. Just a little thought to brighten everybody's day.

Good stuff Ace. At the start of the season I think we would have all settled for a comfortable 3rd in the prem and a good FA Cup run (get past Chelsea and we've won it  :D  ) Only regret is that we didn't get to the CL semi's .

All in all a good season for us ,and the next one's gonna be even better .  :D

Well done, lads!

For once (at least over the last few seasons), a run-in that doesn't involve it going down to the final game to see if we qualify or not!

Having said that, though, it should be pointed out that there is still one scenario that could cheat us out of a CL place:

1) IF Spurs overtake us for 3rd

AND

2) IF Arsenal win the CL

This is not going to happen, though.  I think we've still got the capacity to win all of our remaining fixtures (including the FA Cup) and, conversely, I don't think Spurs have it in them to overtake us (especially since they still have to play Arsenal and Man U).

Up the Pool!  :buttrock

No kidding!  :D

Just thought I'd mention it for the sake of accuracy...

I still think there are goals to achieve over the course of this run-in, though:

1) Thrashing Chelsea in the semis and winning the FA Cup (I would so love to give them a real hiding at Old Trafford!)
2) Pushing Man U all the way for second
3) Setting the club record for clean sheets (3 more to go!)
4) Getting Robbie into double figures in goals  :buttrock
5) Testing some of our promising young reserve players (Anderson, Barragan, etc....but not all at once, mind you!) against top-flight competition (Villa excepted  :p )
