Reading Liverpool.tv it looks like Rafa has quietly been looking to strengthen our defence!

What are peoples thoughts on this guy or does anyone know more about him??

To be honest, i don't know nothing about him. But i would say if Benitez like's him enough to try and land him at Anfield then there must be something there. It say's on Liverpoolfc.tv that Benitez "likes his physical and skilful style and watched him regularly when he was in charge of Valencia."

In my opinion, that can't be bad. Sound's like he's a big lad, most big defender's are columbsy(SP?). Plus he's only 22.

Well he must have a good schooling as he played for Milan and Italian defenders are not bad people to learn from!

I would like to know if he has any pace as we need that badly!

He's no that big... just over 6 feet, maybe 6'1 (183cm), although being Argentinian, learning his trade in Italy... he certainly won't be afraid to get "stuck in" will he. He also has a reputtion for being a bit of a hot head in Italy. Anyway apart form what I've read this morning I know sfa about him.

There is a rumour about Mista of Valencia striker could be on way to Anfield.

But we don't need more strikers, so we need defenders, midfielder and right winger.

Watching him the last 2 seasons at Athletico and Villareal he has impressed me greatly and he has the perfect mix for a centre half of Italian and Argentinian to be a class act.

If he only costs 3.5 and is as good as what some of you say and has some semblence of speed, he is worth a try.

I just can't help to keep thinking about Kezman who only cost 5 million to Chelski and had a prolific scoring record at PSV. Did we miss a bargain and paid too much for Cisse?

I dont think that they are that similar but amazingly for chelski they didnt pay well over the odds for someone! PSV missed the boat there!!

Worth watching the copa america to see how coloccini gets on against the brazilians that will give him a good test and once thats over he might take a flight north to meet benitez on LFC's tour
