Viera is miles ahead of Gerrard, even when he was at Gerrard's present age due to having quality teammates. However, Gerrard has the potential to develop further as he is still young but how he develops depend very much also on who he gets to play with along side him.
Looking at the present Liverpool team, it is difficult to envisage him ever fulfilling his potential.
