Toulouse only qualified for the competition in controversial circumstances having finished seventh in the French league.

They were handed a place because their last league game was abandoned at 0-0, but they were later given the three points, leapfrogging into a Champions League position.

I know mate...f**kin daft o' clock isnt it. Something to do with the French League having a full programme on that day or something.  Nothing to do with the sweltering heat there at that time of day, at all.

Liverpool is much better than Toulousse.

That said, I have a big amount of respect to the french teams, who are physically quite strong and this preseason months are not the best to face one of those teams (PSG 3 - 0 Valencia 2 days ago).

Anyhow, I have all the trust in the lads, just wanted to say it wasn't the easiest match that we could have had, it's not Macabbi Haifa.

Right, despite he doesn't post much we have a French lurker around here that has aswell a soft spot for Liverpool (Thanks Walleum)

He has told me in Spanish the following report about our rivals.

It's a club of the South West, in this region rugby is the main sport and they share their stadium with a Rugby team.

They were quite lucky to make it to the CL qualification, they did so in the last week, with a massive strike of luck as Rennes, Bordeaux, Lens and Sochaux all lost their games.

Their first league game has been awful and they also lost their main signing up of the summer, the Swedish striker Johan Elmander (which is pretty good). Since they already have several players injured (Arribagé, Congré, Mansaré y Paulo César), they're not going to face Liverpool in the best moment. They lacked aggression and they allowed the Valenciennes striker make a hat trick.

The players worth to mention are Battles (solid experienced midfielder), Ilungara (offensive left back), Gignac (young striker, strong, skilful and good movements) the mentioned Elmander and Bergougnoux.

Their coach is Elie Baup, former girondins COach for 6 seasons and that made Girondins champion. He uses a 4-4-2 under any circunstances (known as the Baupian 442 there). THe second striker tend to be fast and supporting the other one who's stronger.

Their main weakness is tactically this friend says, and we should win comfortably.
