CL 1ST GROUP STAGE DRAW - bordeaux, galatasaray and PSV

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I'm really pleased with the draw.

PSV and Galatasaray are tough sides but we should be able to maul them when our team has bonded. Galatasaray are extremly tough to play against in Istanbul.

Just saw the interview with Rick Parry. When asked if there will be any more signings he said "We'll see"

First off I want to greet all fans of undoubtedly Englands best and biggest club. My name is Arslan, I'm 34 years old and I'm a passionate Galatasaray-fan. But I always had a weak spot for the REDS: Aldridge, Rush, Souness, Dalgliesh, Beardsley, Macmahon, Hansen, Keegan, Barnes, Grobbelaar and more recently Macmanaman, Fowler etcetera..what great names what great history.

Guys I have to admit that our side is not what is has been. We have siginificant defensive flaws in our midfield. If Liverpool manages to pressure us in the heart of the midfield we'll have a chance of losing with big numbers. Our backpositions are also very weak but then again we have great central defenders. Our forwards are the best Turkish football has to offer: senior Hakan, killer Umit Karan, youngster Hasan Kabze and Necati Ates. One player that really deserves your attention is Arda Turan, a 19 year old winger who is considered to be Turkeys biggest talent.

As i said to my mate and fellow red it could be a lot worse-as predicted one kinda quality side and two potential banana skins, never the less i have faith in the boys to pull it off with aplomb

The thing with Chelsea drawing Barca is that 2 teams will qualify from the group and wouldnt meet each other again untill the final, which might be a positive thing for them.

Im fairly happy with our group although.

But Football is a funny fecker aint it, and it can be as predictable as a soap, 3 times in three seasons!
