Cisse. - Djib-brilliant?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The thing is, when Cisse has been given minutes, whether it be 60 mins from the start of 10 mins off the bench, he has shown that he can’t do the basics properly. He shows a basic lack of intelligence in his game, he is technically poor.

I admit he is quick, but pace without footballing ability is pointless. His touch is poor, his finishing is rash. I think we should keep him involved until the end of the season just too make sure he holds some value for when we want to sell him.

He is not totally awful but he is quiet poor.

Rafael Benitez believes Djibril Cisse must improve his form and work harder if he is to earn a place in the France squad for the World Cup finals.
Cisse was left out of the French squad for next week's friendly with Slovakia in Paris and Benitez feels the striker can give a lot more for the team, while at the same time improve his World Cup chances.

"If players want to play in the World Cup they need to play well for their teams and work harder," reasoned Benitez.

"It's a simple solution. Work hard, play more games, score goals and get your reward. It's a vicious circle. If you work hard, you can play. If you play, you can go to the World Cup.

"He's a player who can score goals and he has unbelievable pace. There's always a chance for him because every manager would like a player with his qualities."

he is a french stan collymore.

all the attributes and in glimpes brilliant,   BUT he dosn't work hard enough to impress the manager and thats that. i don't buy into the confidents issue, he is at the top of his chosen sport, boo hoo if the manager dosn't want to come around your house and tell you that your great every day,

if he played to his max every week he would be scoring goals and playing more but he has shown that he thinks that he is 14million worth of star and should be treated as such.

if he dosn't get into the french team i think we will lose 10million on him. i am not a believer in player bashing but he is not fitting in to our team at the moment and the manager has shown that he can be ruthless enough to clear players out that aren't making the team better, and he ladies and gents fall bang in that catergory.

see ya cissie and plse don't cost us to much on your way out

No point in selling before WC as he has done nothing since he got here.

No worries there then. Houllier's due to have another one of his "Isn't Igor Biscan a great player" phases so expect to see Cisse at Lyon some time soon.  :D

From what i saw of cisse against Charlton He was playing telling crosses like he always does and his shooting wasnt bad with the turn and shot he did . Rafa please give him more games . Plus people keep on saying that he doesnt like playing on the wing but He has never came out and confirmed this or has he . Correct me if im wrong .

With Sissoko's current injury and with Hamman maybe not having the fitness which he used to have, this is the perfect opertunity for Cisse to re-invent himself as a right winger. He's got the pace, and he does cross quite well (for a striker) but it always looks like he's sulking a bit when he plays wide. And he can't really defend from that position.

Well thank you for that succinct and defamatory reply. Your response is just as valid and desired as any other and some where in all that bad grammer and spelling errors there is a good point. Play a striker as a striker and with games they get better. But do we have the games to give? Can we afford to have, not only a striker that doesn't score, but also a striker who wastes possession and doesn't seem to care as well, taking the place of men who have looked more like scoring throughout the whole season? Like I said, not a bad post, just a shame it was written by someone whose shoe size is bigger than his IQ. Nice one.

Thats BS.  Cisse when asked to play on the wing does so and seems to a do a decent job.  Haters say "Cisse always moaning" with no evidence to back that up.

Igooorrrr! :buttrock :buttrock :buttrock

shame he got a bad name for his roles as a centre back... a position he wasnt confortable with in the first place.

You all saw what he could do in Instanbul... its a myth why rafa let him go for free and he's doing quite well.

  What did Igor do in Istanbul that we didn't see ? Sell you a kebab ?

For those that may have have been unsure this plank has about as much credibility as a £3 pound note.

oops,he didnt play?!
That game was ten months ago and i remember that Alonso was just coming back from injury so.... its really easy not to remember all the details of that great game.

What baffles me most is the way you rushed to highlight this tiny mistake on my part while ignoring the big picture i was painting... that biscan played some great games for us in central midfield.

The fans loved him... you could see it in the songs and banners all around anfield during games and even in the CL final!

Its easy to tell you have been waiting to do this for along time... newbie bashing by a mod... its disgusting :help

And Jbg,after how long does a mystery become a myth?does one year suffice?

A mystery and a myth are totally different things. A mystery becoming a myth isn't a question of time, it only becomes a myth if it is commonly beieved but infact, untrue. Why Houllier believed that Cisse was ever going to be worth 14 million pounds is a mystery and will remain forever thus. It would only become a myth if infact the transfer fee was what it should have been, around 4 million pounds and we all mistakenly believed we had paid much more.
In a similar sense, it is a mystery to me Solja why you continually come on here in your multifarious guises and post utter nonsense. That mystery could only change into a myth if you suddenly acquired a semblance of knowledge about football. Alas, this takes a period of well over one year in my experience.
