Cisse crocked - Really short of strikers

We should or it will be gross mismanagement for not insuring your valuable (£14M) asset. But the fact is we might not get to see the insurance money for a while yet, and definately not in time to buy his replacement.

Absolutely gutted for Cisse and for the team. Find it hard to believe Cisse can come back the same player after this but fingers crossed. I don't think Mellor can make the step up, Le Tellec must be wishing he had stuck around so it looks like Pongo or Harry will be competing for the position. Big opportunity (maybe the last) for Harry to reignite his Liverpool career.

Is it true that Mista has signed a new deal with Valencia? Hope we can find a way to bring in Morientes in January

Thank you for that Doctor Hustler. Tell me, where did you study medicine? Or does the highlight of your working day involve asking "do you want fries with that?" for the 100th time?

I for one wish Cisse a speedy recovery and hope like hell it doesn't threaten his career. In the meantime I think it's time for Rafa to look at bringing in somebody on loan and there's even more urgency to strengthen our attack come January.

The moment of impact on Cisse's leg

That is why they give cards for tackles from behind. I feel for Cisse, wish him a speedy recovery.

All the best Cisse.

It's bad but it happens.

I'd prefer Garcia or Kewell up front, but that leaves us short.

January looms - have we got the funds though?

We really need another centre half, some ****** defending yesterday.

Hypia was exposed, Hamman was overrun.

Josemi looked slow.

There has been a few leg breaks like that, most of which have never returned. Luke Nillis, Aston Villa, ever hear of him again? David Busst, Coventry City, we all know about him. Stan Collymore and Henrik Larson are another two. There has been loads more in Division 1 etc which are less publisized, but the fact is, only Larson out of all them was the only one who returned to football - at his best.

Im praying Cisse will be ok as Larson was, it looked very very similar to Cisses break.

I as a Liverpool fan would gladly take Cisses leg break and the pain that goes with it to save his career.

Why the ****** couldnt this have happened to Diao instead of Djibril?

Yes, we are going to be short for a while, the squad is very thin due to some very poor buys over the past few years. We can't blame anyone but the previous management team for our lack of quality in depth - millions were wasted. Gerrard and Nunez will be back soon so will allow Kewell and Garcia to play with Baros. We now need 2 strikers in January!!

sometimes a player can come back stronger after a leg break because the bones are made stronger, I know it sounds mad but this has actually been said by doctors lets hope its the same for djib.

Yes that is true, but not a leg break like this. What you're talking about is because the bone grows thicker around the area it was broken making it stronger, but in this case its nerves, legiments and muscle damge etc which is the concern. Click on this link and scroll down for another sick viwe of his break, you can see the pain in Djibrils face from this view...so, be warned.

it was real bad what happened, i hope he comes back, he can take heart by what has happened to warnock and carragher in the past and we have a good medical staff to help him recover.
The one saving grace we have at liverpool is we have a few players who can play left wing, which means that kewell could play a more attacking role at the club.
It is bad but we have baros, kewel and garcia who can play up front. Pongolle sholdnt be out long and he needs a run in the team. Neil Mellor has never played as well for the first as thereserves but we all know what he is capable of. We can bring back Le Tallec and there is news of Cheyrou returning.
We gained a valuable away point at blackburn and with the game in hand we are still in ok shape and we just need to weather the storm and hopefully do something in the january window

Rafa has been succesfully shaping up some players that once assumed to be "finished" like traore, finnan, baros etc. Hopefull it will work well with the arrival of cheyrou, le tallec etc.
