It's a PRINCIPLE i'm defending not Gerard Houllier persay. He just happens to be the target at the moment and IF Benitez does not bring the success we crave then he will no doubt become the next target and thats sad  :(

We live in a football world that is fickle and shallow in the extreme and I won't add to it's shallowness by taking cheap shots at a former servant of Liverpool Football Club ....

Well said though im still somewhat bemused how a thread about Cisse's terrible injury can turn into a GH bashing exercise. I guess some people always need a bad guy

****** Bush. I didn't vote for him. But this thread isn't about Greenred's avatar or Houllier. Its about Cisse.

one of the hard to find positive sides is it's an opportunity that should be well-responded by Pongolle

By that time we might have a new striker come January. We always seem to have a rock in our shoes.

Looking at the extent of his lower leg bone break, I fear that Cisse's career as a speed demon striker may have come to an end. Football players do a lot of running and it may be possible that although he will heal completely, his bones and muscles (if they are also damaged) may not be able to withstand high stress of sudden acceleration and stopping and changing directions rapidly. This may be the stark reality of it.

Jim Beglin's injury in 1996/1997 season comes to mind, after recovering he was never the same player. I feel sorry for Cisse but I am really gutted for Liverpool as we have spent 14 million which looks like going down the drain just like that.

I believe Larsson had this type of injury a while back when he played for Celtic, it took him a year to recover but he was able to return to his form. I hope Cisse can do the same.

Larsson moulded his game when he came back (similar to shearer). Hope Cisse can do the same. Hope we have some kind of insurance cover though. 14 million is a lot of dosh....
