Returning to the Cisse v Owen question
If the lad can get it together there's no reason Cisse can't become another legend here , perhaps more in the Rushie rather than the Owen mold .If he can come up with the goals we should finish at least a comfortable 3rd or 4th . If however Cisse and our other forwards (the dynamic Morientes and the Invisible Crouch) fail to take their chances we will be in a right dogfight with at least 3-4 other improving teams for that CL spot .

At the moment I think that owen is better, firstly he is a proven prem goalscorer and has done it on the big international stage. If u give him good service then he will guarentee a team at least 18 goals a season.

As for cisse hes still young and has bags of potential, at the moment his finishing is no where near owens. But he can only get better as time goes on. With a little luck on his side his confident shud grow as he scores goals. Look at Henry when he first came to the premiership. He wasnt banging in the goals instantly but Wenger had faith in him. We shud hav faith in cisse..... watch this space..
The rafalution begins.. Happy Days!!

Jeez when I said that about 9 months ago I got slaughtered. Still, I guess it's OK to say it now. Similarly, in a years time when people are saying that Zendens garbage and that Morientes is not suited to British football that will be OK by then as well.
Untill then, IT'S TOO EARLY!!!!  :D
Remember Pires, Henri etc etc etc etc.

depending on how long cisse stays with LFC, he may have more of an impact than MO had.

But I will always support a red over a toon.

If that little 'Michael in the middle' scores 6 in 7 for toon everyrone will be creaming themselves into an oblivion.

Djib has done exactly this and noone bats an eye lid.

And i've never heard Djib complain about his French WC place when Morientes became the first choice.

Mickey is a little englander who dreams of being Gary Linekar. This is why noone used to sing his name while he was at Liverpool.

Owen is a much better finisher than Cisse. He misses so many chances when he's one on one with the keeper, these are the sorts of chances that Owen slots away with ease.

owen is the better of the 2 but we dont have him anymore , owens goalscoring abilty was natural that cant be taught ( rushy aldridge fowler). im sure cisse  will improve but hes hardly a young kid. he was top scorer in france so he knows how to put the ball away. not seen many of his goals when he was there but im betting most of them were goal of the season contenders. when he gains a bit more composure he will score a lot more than he misses. bit unfair to compare the stats regarding what they have both done , especially international level. owen didnt have to get past henry or trezeguet. but time will tell and hes the best of what he have in that position im hoping he goes on to achieve half of what owen did for us. if he makes it of the bench

cisse will get better, but he has a long way to go to be classed as world class, look at samuel et,o at barcelona ,he is the same age has cisse and his far far better player than cisse,  eto,s first touch, finishing and technique is at the top and  he is probably in the top three strikers in the world today, but the good thing about cisse is that he is hungry to get better and improve is game

another "Owen" thread...but heregoes:-

Owen is pure class and why he hasn't been signed by one of the top clubs in europe is amazing - I read that Madrid still owed NUFC £6m from the Woodgate transfer so maybe they always held all the cards.

Some of the cr@p said about Owen goes like:

"one trick pony", "can only score with one foot", "can't score with his head", "not strong enough"

Is that a fact?  So how comes he carries on scoring goals?  Coz he's class!

Owen gets my nod against Cisse but he's not a 'pool player anymore so I don't give a toss about him....unless he's playing for England of course:)

I would have to say that MO is much the better natural finisher- saying that weve had years to judge him on-
I know that cisse has been very irratic in front of goal and his vision is questionable, but I like many feel that there is somthing there -if we can play a system that suits him we could easely get 20+ prem goals a season- that and the fact that he can skin full backs down the wings make him potentialy a better future prospect than MO-
I like many was disapointed that MO never came back, that said I would rather look forward and not dwell on what might have been- rafa will get it right by doing things his way.
