Comments like that only go to show how little you know about football. Carragher was skintight to Drogba when he received the ball. Now unless some player have some sort of extra-sensory perception of where a striker is going to move before they do how the fuck does Carragher know what Drogba is going to do next?

The fact that Reina was to the right of the goal and still didn't move speaks volumes. Wonder goal it can rightly be called.

It is increasingly clear that you are a wind up merchant looking to annoy us Liverpool fans

I normally stay clear of these game threads because you've got to plough through pages of smileys and one-liners to get to anything worth reading. I've got to say though that Red Soul and Red 37 have put up the two best things I've read on here in ages. Absolutely top notch posting in both cases.

dogboy's strike was fecking good and pepe cant be blamed for that. i just cant stand the fact that out best player and captain, dosnt have a position in the centre of our midfield. Momo was great against the Chavs and made some great tackles and didnt stop running all day, but stevie on the left? thats to much , i just cant take that. We some half chances come through chipping over the top and letting bellamy run for it but we just started to send crosses in and it just simply didnt work. As soon as crouch came on his first touch of the head was almost a goal when kuyt mis fired and hit it over, i just simply dont understand these tactics. some of the best football we played was on the floor so why not keep on the floor and central and use our one man advantage down the centre, becasue obviously sending jermaine down the wing and crossing it in the whole time didnt work. this is where we could use stevie in the middle making runs at defences and playing balls in behind? i thought zenden was :censored: when he came on, luis garcia i think would of been more affective had he been in the squad. The only positive to come out of it is the defence's performance, and while we didnt keep and own goal due to a good goal, the back four where very solid and their strikers where outplayed by our boys except for a Drogba fluke. really impressed with agger think we are seeing a future champion in the making.
dont think our seasons over at all, i think the prem is gonna be a lot tighter than everythinks it will be and any of the top four from last season have a chance. This weekend against newcastle is the begginging of the rest of our season so CMON U RED MEN!.

I agree the title is over but i think maybe your being a bit hard about Gerrard leaving.

What an over reaction, Gerrard will leave next season. So what if he does? People come and go, the club still remains. If he's scared of putting in hard graft to earn trophies then he shouldn't be playing for us, it's a simple as that.

oasis maybe you shouldnt be posting here, your full of it mate, and now your just talking to razz people up and get a reaction, next time i hope people dont listen to you pathetic sod, you obviously havnt been watching the same liverpool games as the rest of us, but wait this is the same moron who believes that rafa and mourinho sometimes play the same tactics so this similarity must be the reason why they dont get along. you may wanna get that brain of yours checked out. at first i didnt really see the jusification of people giving you so much :censored: on these forums, but u solved that little problem for me.
your a fecking W*nk and should go find a club with fans of the same mental capacity of u, i think you'd fit in well with the chavs.

oh and stevies red for life, 2games is nothing- chavs have lost one, same with the mancs and gunners are just as bad off as us.

Very good post from red soul and it is a shame you have to read some terrible and pointless posts to get to it.

I am so gutted to have lost yesterday but i think a lot of people are looking past some of the positives from this game.  In recent visits to stamford bridge we have gone there in hope for a draw or sneaky 1-0.  Yesterday i feel we really took the game to them and with some great link up play between Gerrard, Kuyt and Bellamy we were very unlucky not to score.  Kuyt was very close aswell as Gerrard on a couple of occasions and also Crouch at the end.  Other than Drogbas superb finish they created absolutely nothing.  People seem to forget that Schevchenko is one of the best strikers in the world and he didnt even get a sniff.  Cant remember Reina having to do anything!

Felt there was some very good performances from the likes of JC, Agger and Kuyt amongst others.  The one person i was disappointed with was Pennant.  He gave Cole a lot of problems when running with the ball but his final product in this game was not up to his normal standards.  It summed it up when Finnan put in the two most dangerous crosses from the right.  The most disapointing thing though is the fact when they went down to 10 men we didnt change our approach too much.  Although we did try and stretch them out wide, i feel we played too many long and ambitious passes that didnt come off.  Would have like to see Crouch introduced a little earlier.

I also thought it would have been an ideal game for Garcia to come into in the last 20-30 mins as he may have caused more problems in and around the box but he obviously felt he needed cover in over areas.

As people have allready mentioned though, We have played Everton and Chelsea away now and we need to take some positives from this game and try and get a few goals under out belts in our next too home games.  As mentioned by someone else, its not this game that will hurt us.  Its the lost points against Sheff Utd and Everton.

Man utd didnt look good at all yesterday in what was their first real test and believe me, there wont be too many teams that go to Chelsea and dominant the game like we did yesterday and reduce them to no attacking threat whatsoverer.

Chins up, hopefully by sunday we will be 6 points better off and in the early stages of a winning streak.

As much as it was gutting to lose threee points I have to say we were the better side of the two teams and on Chelsea's performance they will defeintely drop points this season.

My biggest gripe was our consistent thumping of the ball up field to give Chelsea the ball back (and in most cases in the form of a goal kick where we'd kicked it so far). As people have mentioned, Shevchenko was :censored:- in fact i was at the game and didn't really notice him at all until he went off! Hopefully Alonso shut up a lot of people on here by putting in a solid performance with a lot of defensive work which put Sissoko to shame- if he carries on the way he played yesterday he'll be seeing a few red cards this season! As much as i didn't want Zenden to get on the field, if he hadn't we'd have been down to 10 men before long!

Our defence was good and although Carragher was the closest to Drogba it did seem that Reina should have done more for their goal (although I was at the other end of the ground when it went in so probably don't appreciate how fast it went- although as i was directly in line with the goal it did seem close enough that if Reina had moved he may have got to it!), asides that Agger and Jamie were solid. Aurelio looked defensively poor for the short time he was on and i feel whenever he's on the field our opposition are going to get a lot of play down that side, especially if we don't have anyone who can help him as Riise would.

Our main problem is the same as last season- we just can't find the net! Kuyt (especially in the second half) was fairly quiet and although Bellamy ran around a lot nothing really came of it! When i saw the line-up I started to get really excited as it was a line-up intent on winning the game although as with most of our recent games we still haven't gelled as a team and look really disjointed and unable to hold onto the ball.

Anyway; it wasn't a great game but I don't think it's a problem we have that needs us to buy players- we have the team there they just need to gell and stop kicking the ball upfield in the hope someone may get on the end of it. Roll on wednesday- i honestly believe we'll win that game where i always had a bad feeling about Sunday's. (Mystic Tom!!!)

We are not keeping the ball as well as we should.  Too many misplaced passed and wasting possession.  I thought when they went down to 10 we could of pushed more men forward.  Was frustrating to the see the ball drop at the edge of the area and not a Liverpool player in sight.  I think Kuyt will score goals but not sure the way we play is going to get the best out of Bellamy.  His a very much play on the shoulder of the last man with the ammunition coming from through balls and passed played in behind sides.  I don’t think we play in a way which supports that type of striker.

Well we lost  :(  which is no great surprise it was always going to be tough.............But we did what I hoped we would do and that was play well. We have improved in every game so far which is something to be pleased with. The goal you have to admit was a bit special and neither JC or Pepe can be blamed for. They defended well after Ballache was rightly shown red, But Momo should not have been on the pitch as he should have been sent off.
Besides the loss of the three points only one other thing cast a shadow on the team.................Gerrard, we all Love the guy and last season he was head and shoulders above everyone playing right side mostly yesterday he was on the left agreed its not ideal and his talents are somewhat curbed by playing there but his whole body language said I am not happy here.
Rafa has to realise that Gerrard is the heart of the team and build the team around him. It is possible to play Momo, Alonso and Gerrard in the middle and allow Gerrard the freedom to get forward and track back when needed.
Wednesday is an ideal game, At home, Bellamy against his former employers Kuyt starting at anfield for the first time, a bloodied nose from the bitters and the chavs. I am old enough to remember that teams who had to come to Anfield just after we had lost were put to the sword in no uncertain terms. Lets show them the title race is a long way from being over we are still the only team who can run the chavs to the line.

RAFA BENITEZ SCREWED UP AGAIN!!!!!!

WHY WAS THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE CENTRAL/RIGHT MIDFIELDER IN THE EPL PLAYING LEFT WING 4 60 MINS? ??????

WE CREATED THE BEST CHANCES AND SUD HAV WON IF WE HAD STARTED WITH GERRARD IN THE MIDDLE AND GONZALVES/ZENDEN ON THE LEFT.

I HOPE RAFA LEARNS 4M DIS AND NEVER DEPLOYS GERRARD ON THE LEFT AGAIN 2 MAKE WAY 4 ALONSO/SISSOKO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK.

we've now not played the same team two games in a row for 90 GAMES. it's got to the stage now where we need to pick a settled side and stick with it.

Oh shut up with your whining. Your speaking out of your backside mate.

Gerrard wasn't a fixed left midfielder for the game, he roamed. As for the midfield selection - it was fine. Alonso and Sissoko in the middle looked comfortable and Pennant saw absolutely loads of the ball.

The one reason we didn't come away with anything is the same old story - we couldn't finish.
