todays performance was ok although we couldnt score against 10 men. the problem is today became a 'must win' game because of the poor performances prior to today, and those poor performances have been caused by instability in the team.

were are the people now who were saying the sheffield result didnt matter as its only the first game

And pls pls play gerrard on free role, if not right wing, play where he is the best dun put him at weird places...

Hes a useful scapegoat for that cant figure out whats wrong (i.e they dont know very much about football)

I just didn't agree with the choice of wide players today, I'm sure the goals will come soon, we were unlucky today, on a positive Danny Agger had another good game.

I agree with Goat cos we need to stop rotating so many players, it doesn't settle the players at all, ok change the odd player if they look tired but I think Rafa is tinkering far too much  :no

was gonzales on the bench?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

this tinkering stuff has gotta stop!!! It is obvious that the team is affected. (1) Crouch is on the form of his life so he should start...his strike partner should find way to strike an understanding with him. (2) Gerrard is our main asset so he should play at his best position...supporting the strikers from the middle of the park whereas Alonso's form has dipped so he should start from the bench until he find his feet again (3) Agger & Carra should be our centreback and Hyypia should only start to give one of them a rest or played at cup games.

Get our spine sorted out quickly and we will play with more consistency...

Thanx Santa exactly, where ya been anyway you still got the chrimbo avatar from 2 years ago LOL  :D
But its true, Benitez needs to stop changing the starting 11, today we had a better chance than ever defeating them at the bridge, but to many unfamiliar players in the starting line up.
Passes go amiss, Pennant got no change out of Reilly, Rafa can say this is the reason we won this cup, that cup etc.....
But the truth in the matter is we kept those clean sheets and went on our winning streak with a settled side.
Dont try and be different Rafa and try and puzzle the opponents its not gona work.

Best 11 week in week out now please in the prem, we only have a CL place to play for now unfortunatley.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

The worrying thing isfor all our posession and dominance against the likes of the "blue :censored:" and again today, were not finding the net? thats no goals in our last three games we have to sort it...and fast! otherwise it wont be just the title race we will be out of?..we need a settled side gerrard should be playing in the middle...surely even rafa can see that!. Why buy two wingers if you are not going to use both of them? there's been too much fukking around with the team selections if you ask me, and its costing us. Crouch should have started the game or been brought on earlier, couldn't understand why he swapped one full back for another?...and what does zenden give us?. ???

That means that either Gonzalez, Aurelio or Zenden.
I would rather have Pennant on then any of these three.

I dont see what the problem was, our midfield played well and had good balance.

But what would your midfield would have looked like, if you claim that you would have don it differently?

The only player in our team I think is undroppable is Stevie G.

Xabi needs to pick it up again, he hasn't been his usual self so far.

I know most would disagree, but I can't wait for Kewell to come back. Our left side has been our weakest area recently, and the rest of the team has suffered trying to coverfor it, i.e Gerrard playing on the left today.

I don't think so mate, I would have liked him on in the second half, I think he would have been more effective than Zenden.

Don't talk b*llocks.

I suggest you look at the league table.

WHy? Will it strip if I do?

We have played 4 games.

We have 4 points with a game in hand. (Let's assume that will be 7 points, then.)

Sh*tski have played 5 and are on 12.

Hardly insurmountable.

The scum will tail off as they don't have a good enough squad. They will take points off Sh*tski (who we'll beat at Anfield), and we should get 4 points off the scum this season, and at least 3 from Arsenal.

Sh*tski will drop points, and we will improve.

If you think 5-8 points over 34 games is impossible you need to kill yourself.

Sorry, let me rephraise that.

Players that based on current form, should ever be dropped for this game:

I'm so pi*sed off with that. We haven't had any fvcking luck what so ever this season and i have to say i think its all over already i'm sorry i'm so pesimistic but we've lost 2 games already and thats fvcking that. That game was b*llox we should have easily won we had the best chances. This game has just reinforcend my hatred of all things Chelsea. I can't believe i'm saying this but if its a choice between ManUre and Chelsea i hope ManUre win it. Chelsea have actually turned into the old Man U never having a penalty awarded against them at home. God i hope they really need points when they come to Anfield and we fvcking kill them. That Drogba what a total c*nt and Robben rolling around on the floor again. I hope someone gives that little sh*t something to cry about this season.

This rotation has got to stop, no one else does it.
Whys should we?
Gerrard will leave next season I am 99% sure of it.
He is not a winger, he is getting played out of postion on a weekly basis because he is so flexable, and if he does leave because of this reason.
I will not forgive Benitez, no matter how many tropheys we win.
Cause lets face it this title is over AGAIN.

And leave Momo on the bench.... I think not.

2 Changes..... How is that over-tinkering?
Its the fault of the players this time, Rafa played this one right.  I wouldnt have changed anything.....

Mate.... I disagree..... Rafa has to take some of the blame yet again.... Gerrard on the left? You have to be kidding me!

THE best Central Midfielder in the world IMO and we have him out on the left when he's right footed? You have to be kidding me..... Sometimes I wished he wasn't so versatile... then Rafa couldn't try to shoehorn him willy nilly into the midfield wherever it suits him....

Ciggy's right.... we may loose him in the long run if we don't get him back into the centre of the park...

C'mon Rafa.... either drop Momo (bad idea IMO) or change the system and play with 3 across the centre in a 5-3-2 or something similar.

Pennant was poor today.... passing and crossing were terrible and he seemed desperately afraid to take on Cashley Cole.....

4 points from 4 matches.... terribly disappointing.... Is it ok to feel bad that we'd dropped 2 points against relegation fodder like Sheffield United now?

v Sheffield ~ Lucky to get a draw via a generous penalty
v West Ham ~ Deserved to win and did but did not play well
v Everton ~ Played like :censored: and got our bottoms spanked
v Chelsea ~ Competitive but lacked attacking ideas and impetus... too predictable and Chelsea held on easily even with 10 men.

v PSV ~ too defensive minded and should have won but didn't

Tactically, I'm starting to question the gaffer's ability.... All this bleeding rotation and apparent tactical naivety is worrying me....

Already in 2 major finals, we fell behind partly due to his tactics.... was it really his tactical nous that got us back on track in Istanbul and v West Ham or did we just get lucky and rode on the back of Stevie's passion for the club?

I'm not so sure now.....

Hell, it could be that I'm a little drunk right now and need someone to blame... plus feeling a little melancholy.... not thinking straight.... I'll sleep this off and see what I think tommorow....
