if you didn't start the spat bob, please enlighten us all to what this is?

as far as i can see it is you starting a spat, i never named names, i simply pointed out this is a football thread and we don't really need to be reading about someones holiday in here. you took that personally and once again resorted to pettiness and accusations.

do you really think everyone on this forum is stupid, there are people who can actually read and make their own decisions as to who starts what without the need to be told who to blame, but you always seems to feel the need to point the blame elsewhere when its obvious where the spat started

There's defo something in the air tonight and I don't even like that little c... Phil Collins. If we're not having a mass brawl about whether or not Keegan is a legend or not, we 're gonna kick each others heads in about trips to Whistler.

Feck me i hope we win tonight or it'll be all off   :D

right now we are back to football chat, we know about whistler, we know bob doesn't like me     and we know we have a massive game tonight, we know we should go for the win as opposed to going for the draw or hoping to hit them on the counter.

anything else we need to know    :D

It's still Monday in US.

Red H wrote:At the risk of being ridiculed how do people feel about playing Pennant, instead of Kuyt ?

My basic argument is attacking flair, over work rate.  Pennant put in a MOM performance on Saturday, and I feel at home we need to have a two goal buffer to take to Stamford Bridge, and I just see more chances of goals scored with Pennant on the pitch.  I know he has had some decidedly indiffernt performances this season, but I also think he was our best player in the Final last year.  He will give Asley Cole something to think about, and take a bit of creative pressure off Gerrard. Plus it wouldn't hurt to give us a bit of a surprise factor

Pennant over kuyt , maybe but i think rafa would want to stop ashley cole and joe cole's attacks so he'd put kuyt there to track back and in terms off attacking kuyt has 6 goals in the cl and a few assist , who's to say he not attacking minded?

4-3-2-1 is the way to go.......

But i prefer if benayoun played on the left instead of babel...even pennant will do fine there. Babel just can't start a game well...But as a sub....he does make a difference...

                        Reina
     Arbeloa    Carra    Skertel   Auerlio
                 Alonso   Mash
         Kuyt                      Benayoun/pennant
                     Gerrard

Bolton , Manu , in the first half , Derby are just some games which i can recall that babel has started and played well , i fancy babel to start on the left as chelsea's right side is weak and i fancy him to have a good game today , yossi maybe coming on when its 60 minutes or so if babel has made no impact or if we are chasing / drawing the current game

babel also has that extra pace to use against the carthorse terry, I can't see yossi starting to be honest, and i think riise will get the nod over aurelio

Should be lack of pace against drogba , i don't think sami can handle drogba , he's fast and strong . Carra seems more ideal to take him and i think we'll see the return of finnan to right back or arbeloa

back to the game tonight, i would prefer Cara at right back, skrtel and hypia at cb and aurelio as a left back. This is very solid and tactically sound considering we are playing Chelsea who have very good wingers in Joe cole and kalou. Cara has all round sixth sense of positional defence, he may not offer a lot going forward but he is essential when it comes to set pieces or recovery of second balls; this is more so when you look at Chelsea, they have very good second ball players and set piece specialist in Ballack and Drogba (lampard to a lesser extent).

In this set up obviously Kuyt will play right wing and Babel on the left. I would not put Riise in this set up as it will nullify our goal threat, and it will play nicely into Chelsea's hands. The defensive inabilities of Babel do not have a serious problem against Chelsea with their week right hand side; they will be wary about Babel getting a chance to cut in to his favourite right foot.

Mascherano is an obvious but i will prefer alonso to partner him for various reasons and the most important is Alonso is superb in tactical awareness and this game may boil down to tactics. I have watched the matches that he has played against top side and he has impressed me, Lucas will not be ideal for this encounter.

I will not say anything about the goalkeeper and the front two.
