records are meant to be broken , i think chelsea are ripe for the picking . DEfoe and Baros ran them ragged yesterday , and they were a weaken pompey side . Speed and height was clearly the problem that chelsea could not cope with . Pompey's goal came from a baros lay off for defoe , who reacted the fastest and scored . Torres and crouch look like the perfect combo for Chelsea . Why do i say that they are ripe , Terry is out , Drogba , Essein , Kalou . Lampard are all injured or on international duty . We Should win this game even though they are at the bridge , if we do , we'll be the first team to win there and like i said records are bound to be broken sometime.

I'd go with this team:

                            Reina

Finnan                  Carragher             Hypia           Riise

Pennant               Gerrard                Mascherano   Babel

                          Torres                Crouch

I'd won't play skrtel in a game with such high stakes , neither aurelio who's :censored: compared to riise . I'd go with a 1-0 win , with a long overdue thunderbolt from riise and no i'm not :censored: drunk

Chelsea have been missing those players for weeks and done just fine.

i know? popmey? they've been struggling as they lack the creativity that lampard has , the defensive abilities of terry and the firepower of drogba. I've just checked from physioroom , it syas that terry and lampard will be back on the 10th , whether they play it's a different thing . Rmb how cech was rushed back last season??

Considering our record against the top three and our current form, the wise money is on Chelsea.  We are capable of beating any of the top three on our day but sadly we don't have many of those.  You can moan about bad luck but our results having very little to do with luck.  The fact of the matter is that we don't take our chances and we get punished for it.

It'd be great if we won.

Currently we are on 43 and they are on 54.

They are still within reach....but only if we can beat them.

If it is true that it would be impossible for us to win at the bridge, then I would Suggest:
                                        Reina
  Finnan            Carra                        Hyypia          Riise
                       Mascherano              Alonso
  Pennant                                                            Gerrard
                                           Lucas

                                           Torres

Also considered Gerrard on the right with Aurelio at left mid

Crouch and Torres both to start along with Benayoun and Babel 2-1 To Liverpool. They have to lose at home sometime I see no reason why it cant be against Liverpool.

Since the Africans Nations began they have played Fulham, Spurs (H), Birmingham and Reading (H) all teams they could beat even if they had rested  the players they are missing, they might as well have picked those games them selves.

Are you playing Lucas as a support striker or an attacking midfielder Joe? Cos if you are playing him as a support striker I think its a reasonable lineup, if you are playing him as an attacking midfielder I think you are going to get Torres isolated and we will be playing long ball all the game.

I think I would have to be paying careful attention to the flow of the match and bark out instructions to Lucas accordingly, and if somehow we are getting bossed in the middle I think switching Gerrard and Pennant is another option instead of dropping Lucas back which would just cause congestion.  Gerrard would naturally not play as wide right if he positioned out there and Pennant is cappable of doing a nice job of cutting in a delivering a cross to the far post or looking threatening in some way.  The last time he scored it was against Chelsea maybe he can come up with another magic shot again.

OK I'm happy with the win against Sunderland but we are far from being out of the woods yet, the first half performance was shocking and we only really started playing after we finally managed to get a cross into the box for Crouch.

If Rafa does not start Crouch alongside Torres then I don't know what's going on, I would actually drop Gerrard for this game as he has been very ineffectual the last few games and he'll be sh1t anyway because its after the international, sorry but its true.

I would love for us to win but I just can't see it happening unless the lads get really fired up and I haven't seen that for a long long time
